Lisa Dahl, prominent Executive Chef, author and restaurateur is known for bringing fine continental dining to Sedona. While her past ventures have leaned toward the Italian, her newest venture, Mariposa, will bring you amazing South American cuisine.
When spending a relaxing getaway in Sedona, Arizona, I’ve always reserved one night for fine dining. And Lisa Dahl’s restaurants were at the top of my list. Dahl & Di Luca debuted in 1996 after Lisa moved from the San Francisco Bay area to Sedona. In 2003 she opened Cucina Rustica, followed by Pisa Lisa in 2012. All three restaurants draw wide acclaim, and score consistent ratings in top ten lists in a wide range of publications and websites.
In mid-May, Lisa will open her fourth establishment, Mariposa, which promises to be among the most beautiful new restaurants in the world.
I’m excited about the new restaurant. Mariposa Latin Kitchen & Steak & Seafood Grill will offer South American cuisine inspired by Chef Dahl’s visits to Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
Set on a bluff overlooking the world-famous red rocks of Sedona, Mariposa will be a destination for fine dining. Mariposa’s diners will enjoy excellent food in a breathtaking setting that will make them feel suspended in the air above one of the world’s most distinctive topographies.
The restaurant, including the outdoor terraces and bar will seat up to 340 people.
The 25-foot exhibition kitchen will showcase the glowing fire of an authentic Argentinian Parilla paired with a large wood-fired oven.
Mariposa’s architecture and design will incorporate materials and design that adapt to the natural landscape, such as native plants, trees and boulders, natural stone pavers, rusted metal, natural stone walls and accents and no visible HVAC and venting equipment. Mariposa’s lighting has been configured to reduce light pollution and nearly consistent with “Dark-Sky” requirements.
Mariposa will be elegant, yet in keeping with the natural beauty of Sedona. Reservations are required. Mariposa will be yet another reason to go to Sedona. Plan your Red Rock getaway to include a night of fine dining in the beauty of the Red Rocks.
