On Dec. 30, 2014, two book festivals, from across the pond of each other, announced their winners. The festivals are the London Book Festival and the Florida Book Festival. The festivals’ winners can be found at links below.
The 2014 London Book Festival accepted books in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and Italian in the competition. The works may be published, self-published or independent publisher non-fiction, fiction, children’s books, poetry, art/photography, young adult, how-to, cookbooks, wild card, business, science fiction, history, biography/autobiography/memoir, romance, and spiritual/religious.
Works for this event had to be published after January 1, 2011 to be eligible. Entries could be published, self-published or issued by an independent publishing house. This London Book Festival’s grand prize was a $1500 appearance fee and a flight to London for their gala awards ceremony in January, 2015 at The British Library.

There was no date of publication restriction on submissions.
The grand prize for the Florida Book Festival winner was a $1000 cash appearance fee. A flight to Florida for the gala awards ceremony held in January, 2015 was also awarded.
Both festival submissions were judged by a panel of industry experts using the following criteria:
