With winter slamming into Ohio in full force this week, pets who are missing in the state face dangerous challenges. As the ground becomes blanketed with snow, it becomes harder for them to find food, and more urgent that they have shelter. Animals can fall through frozen ponds; they can get frostbite on feet, tails, and ears; without shelter they can even freeze to death. If roads are icy, they are in greater danger of being hit by drivers who can’t stop their cars in time to avoid them. As the next few months go on and the weather becomes more severe, it is more important than ever that missing pets be found as quickly as possible.
Today’s column features 18 family pets who are missing in northern Ohio. Please take a few minutes to look at their photos and see if any are missing from your area. If so, please keep an eye out for them. To view pets that have been found in Ohio, please visit Lost & Found Ohio Pets on Facebook.
By sharing tonight’s list of missing pets with friends you will increase the chances of these animals getting home. The more people who view their photos and information, the better chances they have.
If you have lost your pet or found a stray animal, please contact the Cleveland Pets Examiner or Lost & Found Ohio Pets with all of the information. The more information the better! Be sure to include date missing, area last seen, pet’s name – age – breed – and other distinguishing characteristics. Don’t forget to provide contact information and a photo.
