Wednesday’s Louisville vs Syracuse live stream and TV coverage college basketball game is one of the biggest on today’s schedule as both teams look to finish the regular season strong. However, this game may mean a bit more to Syracuse due to the fact that they will not be participating in the 2015 NCAA postseason.
According to a Sportsline report, Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino has not been happy with his teams play of late and tonight things may not come so easy for Louisville when they face Syracuse. The Cuse always seems to play well at home and tonight the Cardinals will be without suspended guard Chris Jones – their third-leading scorer.
Syracuse (16-9, 7-5) played well in their last game but fell 80-72 to Duke last Saturday. Junior Michael Gbinije scored a career-high 27 points for the Orangemen in the losing effort. Syracuse has been a mystery this season. Some games they look like world beaters, while in others they look like they don’t know what plays to run. Nevertheless head coach Jim Boeheim is hoping for a strong finish.
“I just don’t think right now we’re good enough to win these games,” coach Jim Boeheim said. “I think we’ve improved, I think we are improving, but we still have to get better. We’ll see what happens.” “All the games we’ve had have been tough. We haven’t had any games that aren’t tough so I think we’re prepared,” Boeheim said of Wednesday’s showdown. “We haven’t had an easy game in a long time.”
The Orange have had one of the toughest schedules in the NCAA this season, including four games vs. Top 25 squads. While Syracuse has dropped all four match-ups against ranked opponents, the good news is tonight’s battle vs. Louisville will be at home. The first three loses against the top ranked teams for the Orangemen were on the road. A bit more of encouraging news for Syracuse is they have won 13 of its last 18 home games against ranked teams.
Las Vegas odds makers have Louisville listed as a 3 point favorite with the over/under number set at 130. This game is a grudge match. These two teams go back to the good ole Big East days and have played some classics against one another. This is the first time they will meet up in Syracuse as ACC foes. I love home underdogs, and after a great effort vs. Duke, the Cuse sneak out a win here tonight.
Pick: Syracuse +3
