A Mafia hit man who is currently incarcerated for other murders said recently he shot JFK 51 years ago this week from the famous grassy knoll in Dallas, according to a Newsmax production. James Files, said, “I squeezed off my round. I hit him and blew his head backward.”
The brother of Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused killer of Kennedy, once lived in Wichita Falls, Texas. Jack Ruby, the accused killer of Oswald, was set for trial in Wichita Falls before he died while in incarceration.
Files, who changed his name from Jimmy Sutton, was born in Alabama in 1942. During his interview on Newsmax he claimed to have worked for mobster Charles “Chuckie” Nicoletti, an employee of Sam Giancana, a reputed Mob boss.
Files further said several mobsters including Giancana became angry with the President and his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy for targetting organized crime in America. There’s nothing new in this report. What is new, however, is the fact former FBI Agent Zach Shelton appears in the documentary and reveals that he provided inside information to invesstigators about Files possible connection to the Kennedy assassination.
Files is currentlly residing at the Danville Correctional Facility in Danville, Ill. He received this change of address for the attempted murder of two police officers in a roadside shootout in 1991. His accommodations are good for 50 years at Danville. The documentary chronicles how Nicoletti, Files and another mobster Johnny Roselli, happened to be in Dallas the day JFK was assassinated.
Files explains why he positioned himself atop the grassy knoll while another shooter took a different position. He said he had an excellent escape route from his firing position. The self-confessed shooter said, “I’ve got the railroad yard in back of me. We got a parking lot there and I got a place where I could stash whatever I would need, and I could pass myself off as a worker in a railroad yard for the time being until the time comes and nobody would really pay any attention to me.”
The sellf-proclaimed assassin also said, “I never saw Mr. Nicoletti shoot Kennedy, but I know he was the man who was supposed to be doing the shooting from the building. I know it was him.”
Files said he was instructed to take only head shots if he had to fire. He said that when the motorcade got to where he was he could tell the President hadn’t yet been shot in the head. He believed he’d been shot because he saw JFK’s body lurch. He aimed for Kennedy’s right eye but missed when JFK lurched forward. Instead, his bullet struck Kennedy in the forehead slightly above the eye.
He said his boss Nicoletti was the actual sniper from the School Book Depository Building while Lee Harvey Oswald was somewhere else in the same building. Files said Oswald did not fire at the president.
The interview was first shown last Thursday night on Newsmax but will be shown again through Monday, Nov. 24.
It’s difficult to know the exact truth of what happened on that tragic day in Dealey Plaza since so many files are still being kept secret.
