A Russian newspaper with a pro-Kremlin slant has now asserted that the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was in an effort to assassinate Russian President Vladimir Putin. The attempt on Putin’s life was reportedly ordered by a billionaire oligarch, says an Inquisitr report on Friday. The newspaper delivering the story is Russia’s Komsomolskaya Pravada.
The Komsomolskaya Pravada as well as the “Moment of Truth” program claim that the order to shoot down the jetliner was the doings of oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi. Kolomoyskyi – who is commonly known to be a foe of Putin’s – received intelligence about Putin’s airplane, which is called Plane Number One, as well as its assumed-landing location at Rostov-on-Don. In the newspaper and program’s report, Kolomoyskyi ordered that the Ukrainian Air Force bring down Putin’s jet. According to the allegations, that led to the ultimate downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17. The reason that the Malaysia Airlines jetliner was brought down instead of Putin’s Plane Number One was because there was a flight path change of Putin’s plane at the last minute. Instead, Putin’s plane went to Moscow.
When the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was shot down, Putin was coming back from a trip to Latin America. His flight path took him over Ukraine. The Malaysia Airlines Flight that was shot down and Putin’s aircraft intersected over Poland – though they were 37 minutes apart.
While it has been reported numerous times in the past that Russia blames Ukraine for the downing of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, there is new information being asserted in the newer report. According to the Komsomolskaya Pravada version of the story, it is alleged that a Ukrainian army pilot is the person who allegedly downed the airplane. In the newly-released version of the story, it is claimed that Lt. Col. Dmitro Yakatsuts of the Ukrainian Air Force’s elite 299 squadron was the pilot on a Su-25 aircraft. Yakatsuts was following the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 before it was taken down. The new information also states that 30mm projectiles from a military plane hit Flight MH17.
Also a Daily Mail report on Friday, it was claimed that Anna Petrenko was the air traffic controller who was in charge of the Malaysian plane when it was taken down. She was based in Dnepropetrovsk at the time. Believing that it is proof of the allegations, the newspaper’s version of the story says that both Petrenko and Yakatsuts have disappeared somewhere in Dubai. Their exact whereabouts are reportedly unknown at this time.
Andrey Karaulov, a television presenter, suggested that it is curious that no one is searching for the pair. He said, “It is the first case in the world that an air traffic controller that was in charge of the crashed plane is urgently sent on holiday. She wasn’t even interrogated.” Many Western governments and media sources continue to accuse Russia of the downing of the Malaysian flight. Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 was downed on July 17, 2014 as it was traveling from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. All 283 passengers and 15 crew members were killed in the horrific incident.
