Juan Manuel Marquez had a very impressive victory over his Filipino rival, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao. He lost three times against the Filipino ring icon but he knocked Pacquiao out when they met in the ring for the fourth time two years ago. The Mexican tactician is still hesitant to say something about his future in boxing, but according to some observers, he will make a comeback sometime next year.
Meanwhile, due to his experience in the ring with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, some observers say he could give the best answers and predictions if and when the rumored mega fight between the two great fighters happens. In an interview with Boxing Scene on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014, the Mexican counter-puncher who knocked Pacquiao out when they met in the ring for the fourth time said Mayweather will win but he insisted that he will not win by knockout.
“For me, Mayweather will win. He is not a puncher, but he is an artist in the ring. He is the best in terms of defense and his very quick with counter-punches and that’ hurts Pacquiao. He handles timing very well and it is an important factor and very harmful weapon against Manny Pacquiao,” Juan Manuel Marquez told Boxing Scene.
But if Marquez is eyeing a win for Mayweather, some observers especially those who follow the Pacman’s colorful boxing career believe that Marquez had a very wrong prediction when he said Mayweather will win against Manny Pacquiao because they really believe that a rumored mega fight will never really happen even though he is guaranteed to receive hundred million dollars. They also insisted that Manny has a very good chance of knocking Floyd Mayweather out if the fight happens. They believe that Manny’s speed and power will dictate the game if Mayweather agreed to meet him in the ring.
