Marilu Henner is a well-known actress and the New York Times’ best-selling author of Marilu Henner’s Total Health Makeover and The 30-Day Total Health Makeover, I Refuse to Raise a Brat, Healthy Life Kitchen, Healthy Kids, Healthy Holidays, Wear Your Life Well.
With a busy life Marilu always remembers to keep moving by staying active. For more than twenty years she has championed a vigorous, healthy lifestyle and has inspired millions of people along the way. Henner lost her parents at a very early age. When she was 17, her father died of a heart attack at 52. After her fathers death she “ate” her feelings and gained a lot of weight. A few years later, her mother developed severe Rheumatoid Arthritis from the stress of losing her father.
At that point she vowed that if her mother got out of there alive she would learn everything about the human body and save her life. When her mother passed away Henner read everything she could get my hands on to help expand her knowledge of health and wellness.
With regular Pilates classes and a healthy diet she has kept her promise to herself. Marilu shares her go to snacks on the Nadia Murdock Fit blog:
“I always drink water. I’m a big believer in hydration. I also love raw nuts, fruits, organic green bars, and wet foods (veggies and greens with a high water content) at every meal, and not just as a snack. Every day during the afternoon slump at around 4 p.m., I try to have a big green salad, usually with arugula, spinach, kale, avocado, red onion and a little bit of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It sets me up for the rest of the day.”
Over the years Marilu has found a way to reach people through her radio show, website and blog. By partnering up will well known brands she has been able to share her expertise and personal life experiences even more. Marilu most recently became a spokesperson for Always Discreet helping women openly discuss their experiences and issues about sensitive bladder topics. Through Marilu.com she often reveals other menopause topics making it a great place for discussion. “It is important to know you are not alone and that we’re all in this together.” says Henner
