It was a star-studded gathering Thursday night at the Crosby Street Hotel in a bitterly cold New York City. Matrix celebrity hairstylists and their devoted, and famous, clientele assembled for the launch of the professional hair care brand’s new lines, Biolage Cleansing Conditioner and Style Link. Joining Zosia Mamet, Bethenny Frankel, Kristen Taekman, Frankie Grande, Melissa Rycroft, and Kelly Bensimon, was none other than zoomdune.com, on hand to witness hair tips and tricks for readers.
Nick Stenson, Matrix Artistic Director, styled “Girls” star Zosia Mamet’s blonde bob for the launch of Biolage Cleansing Conditioner and Style Link, and quickly coiffed Ariana Grande’s elder brother Frankie before the presentation began. Matrix celebrity stylist George Papanikolas, who just recently sat down for an interview with zoomdune.com, worked his hair magic on reality TV stars Bethenny Frankel, Kristen Taekman, Kelly Bensimon, and Melissa Rycroft, in attendance alongside hubby Tye Strickland.
Matrix pulled out all the stops to introduce the new line. Attendees were treated to a cocktail party, themed after the juices used in the hair care, right before a small movie presentation provided a sneak peek into the latest Matrix Style Link line, due in salons this April, and the Biolage Cleansing Conditioner. Two-time DWTS alum Melissa Rycroft raved about the Biolage Cleansing Conditioners stating, “It smells like Acai,” which is available in salons this February.
Following the screening, guests had their hair analyzed by the Matrix professionals, and quick tutorials were provided to recreate the trendiest looks using of course, the new line of hair care. The international stylists explained the uniqueness of both lines, and why they will soon fly off salon shelves.
Expanding upon the idea the no-shampoo, one-step five-minute method of cleaning, made popular by brands such as Wen, Matrix has taken the new Biolage Cleansing Conditoner one step further as the “only brand with a formula for each hair type with no parabens, no heavy silicones and no harsh salts.” Hair is left without the limp, greasy feel often associated with Wen.
Because cocktails have become commonplace in and out of the salon, Matrix Style Link has innovated the concept with eleven hair care products and three boosters to customize cocktails and “create one million looks with dual-link technology that delivers superior styling results.” As a professional, it was exciting to witness this expansion of hair care from a favorite brand among salons.
