March 2015 is just around the corner, and with it comes some fantastic events at the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis. In a press release, Christina Torres, Press Relations Manager at the theatre announces the line-up.

Ledisi is coming back to Memphis this March on her new Intimate Truth Tour. The Grammy-nominated R&B singer will celebrate her soon-to-be-released EP, “The Intimate Truth,” featuring seven acoustic songs from her acclaimed album, The Truth. You’ll hear Ledisi’s recent hits, including “Like This,” for which she was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance. She was also nominated as Outstanding Female Artist in the NAACP Image Awards. Both award shows will air in February 2015.

DINNER ON STAGE: Special Event
Dine on the stage where the stars perform! The Orpheum’s Dinner on Stage includes an inside peek into the stories and history of the historic Orpheum as told by Pat Halloran. The evening includes a champagne reception, a tour of the theatre and back stage, a brief film in the auditorium about The Orpheum’s history, a three-course meal with wine, Broadway trivia, and an enlightening Q&A session. This event is limited to 90 guests.
The date of this event is Thursday, March 19, 2015 6:00 PM. Tickets are $75 per person, $50 per person for Current Season Ticket Holders.
The Color Purple (Musical)
“The Color Purple” is a 1982 epistolary novel by American author Alice Walker that won the 1983 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the National Book Award for Fiction; later adapted into a film and musical of the same name. “The Color Purple” was hugely successful as a novel, on screen and on Broadway. Jennifer Holliday is undeniably one of R&B and Broadway’s greatest voices. The dynamic songstress’ now legendary show-stopping, heart-wrenching performance of the torch ballad “And I’m Telling You, I’m Not Going” in the smash hit Broadway musical “Dreamgirls” made her a household name and introduced her big soulful voice to the world.
The dates and times are Friday, March 20 at 8PM, Saturday, March 21 at 3PM and Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 8PM. Tickets are $42.50 – $49.50.

DISNEY IN CONCERT: MAGICAL MUSIC FROM THE MOVIES Event type: Symphony Concert
The Orpheum Theatre and The Memphis Symphony Orchestra partners to offer Disney’s most beloved songs in Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies. Presented by Kroger, this concert of symphonic arrangements combines the famed Walt Disney Studio songbook with synchronized video and live singing, including music from “Beauty and the Beast,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Mary Poppins,” “Aladdin,” “The Lion King,” “Pocahontas,” “Frozen” and other classic Disney films.
Dates and times are March Saturday, March 28 – 29, 2015 at 7:30PM and Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $25 – $250.
