Being put on a diet has a negative connotation attached to it. No one likes restricting things they enjoy, especially foods. This article is not designed to tell you what you should and shouldn’t eat, but it is designed to get you thinking more along the lines of adjusting your lifestyle by adding things you like, not taking them away. Adjusting your lifestyle means finding activities that you enjoy to take part in that give you exercise, and also finding foods that are delicious to you, AND do your body good! Put yourself in the no diet weight loss frame of mind!
The foods you consume, and when you consume them should all depend on your lifestyle, or activity level. The more active you are, the more clean energy (carbs) you want to be burning during those activities. You want to ingest plenty of fruits! Try all the different fruits you see at the market. Discover new foods that you never bothered to try before. Google different fruits and berries you enjoy, and see which are the most beneficial for you. Eat those everyday, and during the day. Cut the fruits at night so that your blood sugar levels can drop, and you sleep deeply.
Of course you need vegetables as well! Same thing, try vegetables you have never tried before, and find the ones you like and don’t mind preparing. Eat lots of the fruits and vegetables you enjoy, and also get creative when it comes to how you prepare them. Cooking veggies, and or blending fruits and veggies together into a smoothie can be fun experimenting with. Smoothies and Juicers are great for preparing your favorite veggies and fruits together so that you have a ready supply to ingest easily and quickly for a day or two.
When it comes to protein, don’t just eat chicken every day. Mix it up, but still look for the leanest proteins. Some animal fat is beneficial, but it is easy to eat too much. Lean chicken, turkey, fish or steak is great. Look for different ways of preparing them as well. Find convenient ways for yourself to prepare meals that you find to be delicious. Once you have found a few different breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that you love, stick with them all the time. Pick about 3 or 4 of your favorite meals for each breakfast, lunch, and dinner so that you have variety in your life. Humans need variety!
Now for the foods you know you shouldn’t eat but you love them so much. Having one day a week to cheat and eat whatever you want is a bad idea. You can really set yourself back a week just by over eating 1 or 2 times in a row. If you really want a six pack, you must really watch your portion sizes! Eat a little of your favorite foods early in the day, and preferably on days where you have an intense workout planned. The earlier in the day you treat yourself with dessert, the more time you have to burn it off before bedtime. Dessert after dinner is a habit best kicked to the curb. Having a super sugary treat so close to bed time will really damage your chances on burning stored fat while asleep, and also in sleeping well!
Never tell yourself your going to diet for a specific amount of time to reach a certain goal. Rather, your goal should be to adjust your lifestyle in way where you enjoy the activities you’ve added and also love every meal you eat. This way, you gradually slip into the body you’ve always wanted, all while enjoying life. We have to eat multiple times a day, everyday, so we should enjoy it right? Eating is one of the best parts life, and telling yourself you are on a diet already makes you feel like your missing out. Eating healthy can sometimes be a little more expensive (not always), but it never has to be a bad experience. Find the healthy foods and meals that you enjoy and would love to eat everyday; Increase your activity level with things you have fun doing, and treat yourself early in the day, and preferably only on workout days!
