Happy new year. Another year gone and a new one to begin at midnight.
As one commences a new year one must leave behind events that have caused unrest and pain. Beginning a new year with a clean slate constitutes a happy year.
Bringing in old resentments and bitterness to a new year, or new relationship, will bring with it upset and illness; either mental or physical.
Note the new year is addressed as “happy” not sad or bad. Ones mindset must begin with a positive attitude in order to bring about desired results.
Ever wonder why resolutions start with a bang and die out within weeks? It is due to a lack of internal transformation in the mind. We are creatures of habit. It takes an internal change to create an external result.
In order to change a situation one must have a changed mind and attitude. Mary Kay once made a profound statement that revolutionized her company, businesses, and individuals around the world.
“What you think about you talk about, and what you talk about you BRING about”. Mary Kay.
That statement is completely and entirely accurate. Think about your self talk. Are you the person you tell yourself you are? Do others compliment you while in your head your saying “ya right they don’t really know me I’m….”
Suppose you began to retrain your thinking? Do humans have the power to create their own environment? Well according to Mary Kay and millions of other we do.
What goes on in the human mind? There’s much chatter. Are you mentally self imploding?
Beginning a new year with the same old mindset is a set up for failure.
Do you want a new beginning? A change from the “same ole, same ole” that brings discontentment?
Here is a challenge. Begin to write out what you want to happen this year. No negative talking yourself out of anything because of what you think is impossible. Just WRITE IT OUT.
Now after you have written about five goals (not resolutions) GOALS. Post these pieces of paper in plain view where you will see it everyday.
Guys tape the paper to the mirror you shave in. If it’s an eye sore to the lady of the house, tape to the inside door of the medicine cabinet or where ever you have your shaving gear, and on the dash of your car.
Ladies tape yours to the mirror you look into to do your hair and or make up, and on the dash of your car.
Teens and young adults write and post where ever you spend the bulk of your time. If it’s reading. Put it in the cover of the book, on the kindle, laptop, computer screen, wherever.
In short. Be creative. Put these goals where you will visibly see them daily.
When you read these goals read out loud. Let yourself hear them. The brain takes in what it hears on a deeper level than just reading. (That’s a tip for homework studying. Read study material to yourself out load.)
When a negative thought comes into your head after reading your goals; immediately recognize it! Address it right away. Repeat the goal again until it becomes a reality to you. Do not entertain a negative thought when reading goals.
Finances and other people have no effect on your goals. This is key to remember.
During the year when one is consistent about writing, posting and reading daily or as often as possible; things will begin to change in your life.
Read 15 minutes a day to get your mind settled. Note: read a daily encouragement book. Pray and meditate for 15 minutes everyday. If you miss a day start again. This is a practice not a rule or task.
Happy New Year. Live life to the fullest!!
