While other auto makers scramble to take advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday you aren’t likely to find ‘Fire Sale’ pricing for Honda Fit. Examiner looks to the numbers.
I dropped in on my local Honda dealership Friday for the inside scoop on the busiest shopping day of the year. Although heavy rain with expected overnight snow inundated Eugene, Oregon and region, sales activity on the Honda lot was business as usual as frantic shoppers down the street took advantage of major and minor retail “Door Buster” pricing in recognition of Black Friday.
You won’t find “Fire Sale” pricing on Honda Fit
Talking with Ian Jarvis, Sales and Leasing Consultant at Kendall Auto, we learn that with 2015 Fit inventory running as tight as a mouse squeezing through a nail hole, you won’t find Kendall or any other Honda Dealership in the Pacific Northwest extending deep discounts on Accord, Civic, Fit or CR-V.

I took a moment to pour over this Honda portal vehicle 2015 Fit EV featuring “ EarthDreams” 1.5 Liter 130 horsepower, 114 ft-lb torque, 1-VTEC 4 cylinder engine with close ratio 6 speed manual. Take a look at the specifications and trim levels available here.
There sat 2015 Fit in all its understated glory. Aegean Blue metallic on a black and gray clothed soft surfaced interior. This subcompact MSRPs at $16,470 including prep and destination charges, representing Honda’s least expensive 4 passenger 5 door hatchback available in North America.
To me the 6 speed EX is the Fit trim level screaming for personal modification. Nicely appointed, backup cam, passive and active safety features, a decent though modest stereo system, Bluetooth connectability and 40+ non-hybrid MPG, all standard, represents a solid value in the subcompact hatch segment.
Looking to the $ numbers: It wouldn’t take much to kick Fit up a notch on the performance, looks side. With upgraded rims, tires, an intake air-box and exhaust, this sub-compact hatchback runs with the best of them. We take a look at a few SEMA custom Fits here.
In closing: 2014 will not be the year for deep Honda Fit discounts. In October Honda Fit sales increased 65% month over month as the made in Mexico Fit took hold in a fast growing segment of affordable, not-so entry level. 5 door hatchbacks. For those able to qualify, Honda is offering a favorable 36 month lease or .09% short term financing. 2015 Fit’s worth a look!
