Over the past several months, ISIS has become a serious threat on a world scale. From mass murders and beheadings in the Middle East to “lone wolf” killings and attacks in America and Europe, the Islamic extremists have shown just how far they are willing to go and just how brutal they can be. In the years to come, this will be viewed as a period in history in which the world was in desperate need of true leadership.
And yet, the “leader” of the most powerful and capable nation in the world is unable to come to a solution. Instead, he and his administration talk about jobs for terrorists, and attempt to make a case that social and economic changes will stop the jihadists, which is irresponsible and completely out of reality.
Unrealistic in that what works in a civilized nation, like America or Britain, will not work in a place like Iraq or Afghanistan. Our economies are completely and fundamentally different. And it is completely hypocritical for the administration to argue that these people need jobs and a different economic system when they have argued for years that the reason ISIS hates America is because of Capitalism and how we live. Why then, President Obama, would helping them live like us solve this problem when you have said for so long that how we live is why they hate us?
What it is happening is that our President and his administration have no idea what they are doing, so they are left grasping. They are incapable of solving problems and this is because they have absolutely no experience. There is a system for solving problems that is universal and has been proven to be successful in every industry across the board. The fact that our leaders clearly do not utilize this system proves their inexperience in real life situations.
The system for success has been proven in industries from Sales and Manufacturing to Operations and Logistics. To be certain, eliminating ISIS and the threat that they pose to the world is more serious and complex than executing a sales strategy, but the basics are the same. Yet, the President and his people fail to look at the problem in an effective way.
First, the problem must be identified. They must recognize that the problem stems from a radical Islamic ideology that is set on cleansing the earth of all of those that are not like them. The administration has to wake up and recognize the fact that ISIS is not burning people alive because they secretly want a job or food stamps. Seriously.
Second, clear goals must be established, including short-term, mid-term, and long-term, as well as a desired outcome. The goal of eliminating the threat and the radical ideology must be the end game. Clearly, the only thing that ISIS understands and responds to, like the Nazis, is death. Our military leaders and advisors should be consulted on this topic, who will have much more insight than I and our President have, combined. Obviously.
Third, a strategy to attain these goals must be outlined and communicated effectively. Again, with actual and serious consultation from our military leaders, a clear and effectively communicated strategy can be formulated. The key to this is to outline a strategy that our military personnel can get onboard with and support, and one that they are confident with and will not have to worry about being changed or undermined by our President, who knows little about military tactics.
Finally, the plan must be executed with consistent follow-up. Positive reinforcement goes a long way as well. We can look back and see how successful we were in WWII and make a very strong connection to the support our military got back home.
The vibe in American culture in the 1940s was how well “our boys” were doing over-seas. News articles focused on the progress that our troops were making and the success that we were having. This positive attitude and true support for our military and the mission to eliminate evil (Hitler and the Nazi regime and ISIS are one in the same for all intents and purposes) led to quick success. We have seen a war on two fronts drag on for over a decade now with a vast majority of reporting emphasizing accidents, negatives, and why we shouldn’t be there. This is a whole other topic on its own.
To conclude, our President and his administration refuse, for some reason, to acknowledge the problem and address it head-on with a clear and outlined strategy. Instead, they prefer to sit back in their state of denial and waste time with bogus discussions about getting Islamic terrorists jobs and EBT cards. This is a situation and world crisis for a true leader and a strong and effective American President. We’re still waiting.
