We had the Union army in the North and the Confederates in the South of the early United States. However, panning out a bit in time and space, you can see a running theme of economic tensions that separate North Korea from South Korea, North America from South America… and a seemingly endless list of “haves” from “have-nots.”
This economic disparity (which uses religious or race differences as spark plugs) powers the perpetual motion engine of our endless wars. Currently, it’s causing causing the Persians to line up against the Arabs more every day.
Language is one indication of this great divide: Persian “is primarily spoken in Iran, Afghanistan… and Tajikistan .”
It’s also spoken in other mostly northern regions that are, incidentally, largely Shi’ite Muslim.
Moving south a bit, you find that the people speak Arabic and are largely Sunni Muslims. This combination of language and religious differences causes the people in the two areas to view the world much differently. There’s some natural tension that comes from their cultural differences, which could be used to enrich each civilization, but instead is being exploited by the US – and others of the economic North.
Syria and Iran are both backed by the Russians. Moscow provides the reactors to Iran (with help from Germans and others) and supports Assad in return for access to the Mediterranean, where Russian warships appear now and then to remind everyone of the military superiority of the North.
The Sunni religion is what they use for glue to hold the Global Caliphate (and ISIS) together. Military alliances between Egypt and the Saudis seem to be warming up, now there’s talk about how a “joint Arab force” may be coming together.
In fact, The Gulf Today, reports on this joint Arab force as a done deal. The Saudis have moved into Yemen, and . Yemeni radar and military units are under attack right now.
The US/West (The Capitalistic North) is in the process of feeding arms to both sides (Arabs and Persians) so that the coming World War, instigated coldly and calculatedly to create huge global economic demands, can be set into motion.
Playing through pawns, The North (US, Russia, and maybe China) can pretend that their hands are clean and maintain the superior image that the Northern populations love to ignorantly assume.
Meanwhile, the US could simply be arming both sides in order to ignite the fuse that causes the Middle East Muslims of both varieties to blow up – setting the stage for renewed arms deals with the desperate survivors for countless generations.
We’ll want to avoid a head-on collision with Russia, but if we can do that, the world blows up, the arms industry, and the world’s most powerful military force by far (the US) prospers. And everyone in the North lives happily ever after, their myth of moral superiority intact for another day.
Even as peace may be breaking out in Iran, the northern forces that need war to maintain their illusion of power and their war-based economies are spinning it in a way that weaken the chances for future peace efforts.
As our TN Congressman, Steve Cohen, recently proclaimed, It’s foolhardy to jeopardize Iranian peace talks!
Don’t be fooled by the “a thinly veiled attempt to torpedo diplomacy with Iran.”
Your instincts that long for “peace on Earth” are not misguided. Your sense that we are not that much different from our “enemies” is not treason! Those who perpetuate the endless war with their propaganda and military industry complex-sponsored maneuvering are the real traitors to God and Country!
