New York Fashion Week is upon us and this seasons trend is all about pops of color, inky black eyes and bare faces. The direction that the make up artists are taking for Fashion Week seem to vary according to the designer. At Tommy Hilfiger inky black eyes was the focus of the makeup on the runway. Makeup artists created tight lining all the way around the eyes with liquid eyeliner for a maximum dramatic effect. At Prada, Marchesa and Celine, fine winged eyeliner was applied at the upper lid creating a dramatic cat eye look. Herve Leger’s models strutted down the runway wearing thick black liner as if was applied with a sharpie.
Exaggerated winged liner dominated the runway at Saint Laurent and Oscar de la Renta spring shows. In the mist of the inky eye trend, makeup artist were keeping the outer corners of the eye surrounded in black and the inner corners remained bright which makes the eyes appear larger and open. Shiseido Automatic Fine eyeliner is a great product to achieve the inky black eye look seen for Spring 2015.
Deep texture and color were also popular on the runways this season. Models were adorned with serious smokey eye shadows, vibrant plum and red lips. At Dolce & Gabanna, models lips were a deep berry and Burberry and Missoni models lips were bright flirty orange reds.
Brown eyeshadows were also seen on the models at Gucci, Donna Karen, Givenchy and Roberto Cavalli. Cool shades of taupe, chocolate bronze and warm sand hues was the look for theses designers.
Bare faces looks included flesh colored lipsticks and blush for a barely there look. This means no mascara, foundation or anything. Tory Burch, Calvin Klein and Chanel were fans of this look.
Purple and lavender shadows replaced darker hues at Derek Lam and Vera Wang. Smokey eyes were shown at Tom Ford, DVF and Chanel to look as if you were partying all night.
Bronze sun-kissed skin was also a popular trend at Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors. Dewey bronze skin was created using bronzer to give the effect of as if you just vacationed. Nars bronzer in Casino will help create this look.
Eyelashes are in a league of their own this season. Spring 2015 demands “over the top” lashes. This means the more exaggerated the better. Eyelashes are bold and beautiful. Clumpy mascara, colored mascara and faux fluttery lashes were seen on the runway. Betsey Johnson, Emilio Pucci and Derek Lam were fans of this lash craze. Mac Haute and naughty black lash is a recommended product to create this luxurious lash look.
The newest trend in makeup for NYFW Spring 2015 is pop art eye makeup with a new spin. Makeup artists used strips of leather, satin stickers and swipes of lipstick in place of eyeliner. These textures and colors are an array of colors. Brands like Christian Dior, Max Mara and Elie Saab embraced this trend on their models during Fashion Week.
