When Josh Earnest was interviewed on MSNBC, he was asked if President Obama was ‘acting like a king.’ Predictably, Earnest insisted that President Obama wasn’t acting like a king. First, that’s the wrong question for Mika Brzezinski to ask. She should’ve asked what part of the Constitution gives President Obama the authority to write new legislation.
There’s no doubt that Earnest’s reply would’ve been that President Obama is doing what President Reagan did. Still, that would give Ms. Brzezinski the opportunity to ask the question whether the Constitution gives the executive branch the authority to write new laws. That’s what President Obama did when he signed those executive memos in Las Vegas this afternoon.
It isn’t “prosecutorial discretion” to give illegal aliens a card that allows them to work while they’re here illegally. That isn’t found anywhere in any immigration statute. When President Reagan signed the Simpson-Mazzoli Act that granted amnesty to 3,000,000 illegal aliens, legislation was passed that changed those people’s legal status forever.
Still, as important as that is, that’s missing another important point. In poll after poll, the American people have said that they want President Obama to engage in good faith negotiations with Congress to resolve this matter. With this action, President Obama essentially flipped the American people the finger and told them that he’s paying more attention to special interest organizations like La Raza, aka NCLR, than he’s paying to the average citizen.
President Obama’s actions show that certain of the Democrats’ special interest organizations are part of a Soviet-style oligarchy. There’s ample proof to support that claim. Until this administration, private sector unions were members of the Democratic Party’s special interest groups. Thanks to the environmental activists’ insistence, construction unions are a step away from being persona non grata within President Obama’s Democratic Party.
During his speech, President Obama said that there’s a way to stop his executive actions:
And to those Members of Congress who question my authority to make our immigration system work better, or question the wisdom of me acting where Congress has failed, I have one answer: Pass a bill.
With that sentence, President Obama admitted that he’s writing legislation. If President Obama isn’t writing legislation, why did he say that the way to prevent him issuing executive memos is to pass a bill?
History will record President Obama as the most lawless president in US history. Similarly, history will record the fact that he was the president that listened the least to the American people.
The sad part is that President Obama doesn’t seem to care about those things. It appears as though he just cares about enacting his hardline progressive agenda regardless of whether it’s popular or whether it will help people.
That’s what happens when Americans elect a thoroughly immoral man to the White House.
