The Adibo boot by Oliberté is a traditional chukka boot made in Ethiopia using locally sourced, vegetable-tanned premium leathers and rubber. The rich, variegated, brown/tan pull up leather (leather that lightens over time) uppers are lined with dark brown goatskin and feature crepe rubber soles. The boot comes with a water-based foam liner with heel support and poly blend laces.
The Adibo boot was a bit stiff when initially worn but by the end of the second day had already started to break-in and become softer. The boot has a wide toe box and runs about a half-size large, which is noted in the product description. The sole is soft and the traction quite good. After wearing them for a few days they had already gotten that old bomber-jacket look. They can be paired equally well with jeans or slacks.
All Oliberté boots and shoes are truly handmade. From the selection of the finest locally sourced leather, to the laying out and cutting of the patterns to the stitching and gluing, they are always in a workers hands. The entire shoe manufacturing experience can be seen in a short video on their website.
