Regina: “You’re more than heroes. You’re leaders, which means making the tough choice or someone has to lose and you have to say who.”
“Fall” is the November 30 episode of “Once Upon a Time.” This article contains spoilers, every article has a price. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. “Once Upon a Time” airs Sunday nights at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
A highlight of this episode is Regina’s speech about how the tough decisions have to be made. She shows that she has qualities of an excellent leader. Even though Regina hasn’t always been the good guy, she knows that sometimes being the hero does more harm than good. You have to be willing to make sacrifices for the greater good.
Thankfully, the search for Anna is over! The writers pulled off a decent twist by having Anna and Kristoff be frozen for thirty years. There have been numerous moments in the season so far where it looks like we know what happened to Anna, and then the writers just continue her storyline.
The reunion scene itself is fantastic. There were definite tears. It is great to finally have everyone in Storybrooke, well, except for Hans. It’s fine that he is all the way in Arendelle. He wouldn’t be much use anyways.
It will be fun to watch Emma, Elsa and Anna try to break the curse next week. Anna hasn’t interacted much with Emma, so it could be great. Do you think they are going to spend most of their time trying to prevent everyone from killing each other or will they be focused on stopping the curse?
Ingrid is barely in this episode, which is actually a good thing. She does not need to be present. Sure, the writers could have had her taunting people or popping in to talk to Emma and Elsa, but it would have taken away from the search for Elsa and the fight for the cure.
Okay, so it makes sense that people are locking themselves in cells or to tables and trees, but Regina using magic does not really make sense. She can undo it once the curse hits. It’s not like she will be powerless. All she will be is evil.
Using it to keep Henry locked up is the only smart thing she does, but of course if she decides to go after Henry, then she can unseal him no problem. Everyone should have locked themselves in those cells in the hospital like where Regina kept Belle all those years. Did anyone else think the magic solution wasn’t the best one?
This entire episode is a set up for the curse hitting. It is great that we spend an episode preparing and trying to stop it. This way, the writers can fully explore how the curse affects everyone in the next episode. It would have been too much to try to stop the curse and then also cram in everyone wanting to kill everyone else as the curse hits.
What’s really rude is ending on Mary Margaret and Charming. They are the first glimpse the viewers get of the curse affecting people. True love is going to be put to the test next week. Who are you most worried about for the next episode?
