Every day there are thousands of homeless pets in shelters in metro Atlanta who all have the same wish – a forever home. They are dreaming of waking up in a home where they are loved and cherished and are a member of the family.
In December 2014 Furkids, an animal rescue group in in metro Atlanta, rolled out a new adoption/fundraising campaign called “Operation: HOME.” Donors can sponsor a cat at the gold or silver level. Gold level sponsored cats have had their entire adoption fee paid and can be adopted for no fee. Silver level sponsored cats have had $50 of their adoption fee paid and can adopted at a reduced fee ($35 for cats over six months of age and $75 for kittens under six months of age). The sponsorship will stay with the cat until they are adopted – no time limit.
I will be featuring Furkids cats and kittens who are sponsored under the “Operation: HOME” program. These adorable furkids want nothing more than their very own human and a warm place to sleep at night.
Today’s featured cat is Puff. Puff has been sponsored at the “GOLD” level so her adoption fee is ZERO. Here is more about Puff from the Furkids Facebook page:
Looking for someone a little different? PUFF is a breath of fresh air! Sporting one ear at a jaunty angle, PUFF is sweet and curious; and always looking for treats. She has been working with our PurrKids team to overcome a bit of shyness, and she has made remarkable strides.
PUFF is a fluffy, quiet girl, and would probably not fit into a rambunctious household. But she’s good with other cats, calm, and dignified. AND, she’s sponsored through Operation: HOME! PUFF’S adoption fees are ZERO!
Here is some additional information about Puff from the Furkids’ website:
She is a gorgeous medium hair brown tabby of about 8 years and came to us as a feral cat in the middle of 2011. Furkids is working with her to socialize her. She does not appear to mind the other cats and loves to watch everyone do their own thing.
Puff will need a very gentle, patient and loving hand to work with her and allow her to trust human interaction. While she does appear to get along with other cats, Puff should not be adopted into a family with children. She needs a home that is more settled and quiet in order for her to not be stressed and scared. Puff is coming around more and more. She loves cat toys. Please consider working with Puff and giving her a little time.
