After years of rumors, an Osbournes VH1 reality show reboot is reportedly underway by the popular cable network. Ozzy Osbourne apparently wanted several new episodes to be made public showcasing the crazy but lovable Osbourne family. News Oxy confirms this Friday, November 14, 2014, that producers are ready to start preparing several new episodes, though a full season is not expected at this point in time.
Fans of the Osbourne family can rejoice, as a new Osbournes VH1 reality show is likely to air on a TV set near you. It seems that Ozzy was interested in making 8 or so more episodes, and so a reboot with the new and older Osbourne family is on its way. The MTV television series was a smash hit, and even today, “The Osbournes” remains one of the most popular and appreciated shows on the VH1 network.
According to the press release, the show garnered an Emmy Award back in 2002 in the category of “Outstanding Reality Program.” It was also the most popular series to ever make it on MTV at the time, officially premiering in March of that same year. Sharon Osbourne recently opened up in an interview that Ozzy wanted the reboot of the reality show to happen, and was a major impetus behind VH1 delivering some new episodes for the commonly watched series.
“Ozzy has decided that he wants to do another few episodes, not a whole season, about eight episodes of The Osbournes,” the matriarch of the family shared. “He said for the whole three years that we did it he was drunk the whole time, so he said he would like to do one when he’s completely sober as he is now, so we’re like, ‘Yes!’”
Is the rest of the family ready for this Osbournes VH1 reboot? It looks like it, adds the Hollywood Reporter, as Ozzy, Sharon, and their grown-up children now — Kelly and Jack — are all rumored to be ready for appearances on the returned installment. It is Sharon Osbourne who has been most vocal so far regarding the revival of the series, saying that only several episodes — likely between 6 and 8 — are to be included. That may not be a full season, but it is certainly enough to elicit some laughs and nostalgia from the original 4-season showing on VH1 back in the early 2000s.
Rocker Ozzy Osbourne is said to want the series now, and it’s not a major shock, considering the success of “The Osbournes” the first time around. The reality show, which featured Ozzy and his wife Sharon, as well as the lives of their children, was a major impetus in boosting the careers of all four celebrities. The reboot via VH1 is likely to bring the stars even further into the public limelight.
Sharon has served as a judge on the “X Factor,” while Kelly Osbourne is known as a frequent lead on “Fashion Police” via the E! channel. She also starred in “Dancing with the Stars” back in 2009, while her brother Jack has participated in various television credits in past years. Ozzy will always be remembered as the rocker for Black Sabbath, though much of the world also recalls him for his hilarious stumbling around and calling out for his wife — “Sharon!”
Are you looking forward to the Osbournes VH1 reboot? Do you remember the original TV series, and was the reality show one of your MTV favorites at the time? News regarding the content of the possible 8 new episodes is still under wraps, but it is likely that the restart of the program favorite will indeed have many funny revelations and scenarios in store for fans.
