Thank you to everyone who shared Old Jake’s story. Within three hours of his story having been shared, an adopter stepped up for this sweet dog. Sharing saves lives.
Old Jake has a tragic story to tell. When his owner abandoned him as he moved away, he told others he didn’t care what happened to ten-year-old Jake or what anyone did with him.
Now Jake lies in a shelter and is quickly deteriorating. Old Jake has arthritis which causes him to move very slowly. His vision is limited, which makes him startle easily, but volunteers state the dog has shown no signs of aggression.
Jake’s location is Elizabethtown, North Carolina. He is scheduled to be euthanized if someone doesn’t come forward to help. A volunteer states:
“He needs a soft bed and a warm home and a little bit of love for the time that he has left. Pledges accepted for vet care!”
