Rosie O’Donnell has made it clear that her long running feud with Donald Trump is still on, and it doesn’t sound like it will ever be resolved. On Friday, The Wrap posted a clip from the Nov. 29 episode of “The View” in which a Hot Topic discussion about “a—holes” turned to Rosie’s ongoing feud with the celebrity real estate mogul.
“I know a couple,” O’Donnell said when asked about the “a—holes” in her life. “I’ve learned best not to engage with them via media. Not pinpointing any specific individual,” she said. But then the comedienne then did an exaggerated Donald Trump style faux comb-over to her hair, while looking at the camera. When a clueless Whoopi Goldberg asked her co-host who “had the nerve to mess with” her, O’Donnell asked her if she’s been asleep for four years. “Because it was a constant basis,” O’Donnell added.
Calling Trump an a—hole, no matter how coyly, will surely ignite a social media response from the billionaire. He’s had an opinion on anything to do with his nemesis, most recently the rehiring of her on the ABC daytime chat fest, which he predicted would be a “disaster.” In July he tweeted, “Rosie is back on the View which tells you how desperate they must be. It is the standard short term fix and long term disaster.” He also described the 52-year-old comedienne as “crude, rude, obnoxious and dumb.”
The bad blood between Trump and O’Donnell has been going on since 2006, when the talk show host compared “The Apprentice” star to “the snake-oil salesman from ‘Little House on the Prairie.’” O’Donnell also used her forum as moderator on “The View” to question Trump’s financial well being. The angry real estate mogul fired back, telling People that O’Donnell, was “a woman out of control,” and he threatened her for making false statements about him. “Rosie will rue the words she said,” Trump vowed. “I’ll most likely sue her for making those false statements – and it’ll be fun. Rosie’s a loser. A real loser. I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie.”
Earlier this year, Trump told New York Daily News’ Confidenti@l that he predicts O’Donnell will self-destruct on her second go around on “The View.” “It’ll have a short term positive effect,” he said of his enemy’s return to daytime TV. “The show has really missed not having Barbara (Walters) on it. With that said, it’ll have a short term positive impact, but then you have the long term. Rosie always self-destructs.”
Of course, he couldn’t stop there. “I think she’s got a great agent,” Trump continued. “Anyone with so many failures that can go back again and again is amazing to me. It’s very sad after the catastrophe that took place when she quit after she was mentally beaten up by Elisabeth (Hasselbeck). Her show on OWN was a catastrophe, Barbara (Walters) hates her.”
The real estate mogul also said he welcomes an invitation to face off against O’Donnell on “The View,” but based on O’Donnell’s coy comments against him, it’s a safe bet to say his next move will be via social media instead.
