The clever way a scorned woman named Cassy confronted her cheating boyfriend for Christmas has gone viral on the Internet, with over 15,000 retweets in less than two days. According to Yahoo News on Dec.30, Cassy, who goes by the Twitter handle @NessLovnTrey247, did some cybersnooping via social media and discovered incriminating Twitter DMs between her boyfriend and other women which proved he’d been cheating on her.
Rather than confront her cheating boyfriend with the evidence of his infidelity right away, Cassy concocted an elaborate plan to get revenge for Christmas and teach him a lesson he’d never forget. Her clever revenge story quickly went viral on the Web, proving once again that hell really hath no fury like a woman scorned who has her heart set on getting revenge. According to Cosmopolitan on Dec. 30, Cassy made screenshots of the incriminating messages between her unnamed boyfriend and his lover(s), printed them out, and mounted the proof of his extracurricular activities on cardstock. She then giftwrapped the package and presented it to the unsuspecting cheater as a Christmas gift with a note inside which read:
“Don’t f***ing cheat on me I find out everything!”
Not content to leave it at that, Cassy photographed the various stages of her revenge, concluding with a still image of her boyfriend taken from a video she made of him opening his Christmas surprise. She posted these photos to her Twitter and Snapshot accounts for all the world to see with the caption:
“I don’t tolerate cheating.”
For her efforts, Cassy got lots of support from the Twittersphere, garnering over 15,000 retweets and over 16,000 favorites in less than two days. She also got hundreds of tweets commending her for the clever and rather creative plan she concocted to confront her cheating mate. Why revenge stories like Cassy’s have such widespread appeal
Cassy’s revenge story is reminiscent of another scorned woman’s revenge story which went viral earlier this year when a woman named Timeshia took out a newspaper ad congratulating her husband’s pregnant mistress, thus exposing their illicit affair. Timeshia’s revenge story was carried by newspapers in every state, as well as by international news outlets in places like India, Australia, Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada and media in other parts of the world.
The popularity of revenge stories like these can be attributed to the fact that infidelity is a common relationship problem to which most people, male or female, married or single, can relate. It’s sad, but true that majority of people have either cheated, been cheated on, or know someone who has.
