Increasing clouds, and unsettled weather, will be pervasive across the Capital Region and vicinity through early Friday. This is the result of a chain of low pressure areas draped from the Ohio Valley to the mid Atlantic states. In addition, a rather sizable ocean storm has developed off of the south Carolina coast, and will primarily be a storm for the fishes.
Through the evening hours, an area of low pressure over Ohio will dive southeastward, toward the North Carolina coast by Friday morning. The Capital Region may be influenced by some clouds and widely scattered showers on the northern edge of this system.
The storm is then forecast to gather strength as it hungrily ingests moisture from the Atlantic Ocean Friday morning. However, by this point in time not only should this area of disturbed weather be well south of the area, but it too is expected to follow the path of the first storm mentioned above, track out into the open Atlantic waters, and remain far away from influence to our region.
High pressure builds in Friday afternoon and lasts through the coming weekend with moderating temperatures and generally fair and dry conditions.
