The Harris County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Houston man on Monday in connection to a sexual assault of a woman last summer. A local resident, 37 year-old Fred Hubbard was charged with two accounts of aggravated sexual assault that occurred in June, 2014.
The HCSO reported last year that a 63 year-old woman was assaulted sexually in June and a police sketch was released at the time by the local authorities and Crime Stoppers in an attempt to locate the perpetrator of the crime. Investigators believe there may be more victims of sex crimes by Hubbard. They’re asking anyone who has been a victim of this man or if someone in the local community with any knowledge of such crimes to come forward. Residents can report by calling the HCSO’s Adult Sex Crimes Unit at 713-274-9370
Hubbard also faces charges in another case of aggravated sexual assault stemming from a similar crime being investigated by the Houston Police Department (HPD).
Investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Victims Unit, and Crime Stoppers, asked for the public’s help last summer in identifying and locating Hubbard, the suspect in custody now. Hubbard, allegedly broke into the elderly woman’s apartment and sexually assaulted her on Thursday night, June 19th after midnight last year.
In the early morning hours of Friday, June 20th, 2014, Harris County deputies responded to a sexual assault report at an apartment complex in northwest Houston. The 63 year-old victim, told deputies the suspect broke into her apartment by kicking in the patio door then raped her. She told deputies Hubbard threatened to kill her if she did not comply with his demands. Then the alleged rapist fled on foot after demanding money and other items that belonged to the woman..
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.after the officers assisted her and obtained her information. Hubbard was described at the time as a younger black male between 20 and 30 years old, of big build with a large belly. He was reported to having wearing a blue and white striped collar shirt, blue denim shorts and black shoes. A composite sketch of the suspect was made and distributed.
