The second night of protesters peacefully assemble nationwide in response to the death of 18 year old Michael Brown’s killer, Darren Wilson. Brown was unarmed yet killed by police officer, Darren Wilson, who was not indicted by a grand jury in Ferguson, Mo.
After hundreds of years of second class citizenship status and being depicted as 3/5 of a person in the U.S.Constitution, many African Americans have achieved economic milestones.
But, along with collective image distortion and racial profiling, the time may have come to take the case of institutional racism towards African Americans to the world court.
It is a humanity issue to have continuous
oppressive actions toward a people due
to skin color or class. Achieving excellence within the virtues of humanity should be under the leadership of greatness, be it America or great minds and hearts of Man.
One of the purposes of the U.S.
Constitution was to establish a more perfect union.
With components of imperfect men, a
perfect society would be an
impossibility. But a more perfect union
could be achievable.
The dilemma of African Americans and Native Americans already in
America posed an enigma for the Constitution
Their solution was Native Americans would exist in a separate
Native American Nation or reservations with no representation of U.S. Congressional leadership.
Since the Southern States of the U.S. held a higher African
American population due to slave labor, African
Americans were classified as 3/5 of a
person for representation and tax purposes by Congress. 3/5 of a
person defined 2/5 of a non-person or an animal. This economic
and social atrocity took on a literal acceptance for some Americans
with slanted views. A quality of life would tilt the scale towards whites while minimizing the opportunity towards non-whites.
From that point forward, the. Blind Lady
of Justce would peek from behind the
blindfold to administer an unequal brand
of justice. The beacon for democracy
and great model of liberty for all, the U.S.,
shined for the word to see, while trying
not to reveal its brand of ugliness.
Martin Luther King, Jr revealed this ugly
truth to the world via television in the Sixties. Americans of just
hearts rallied to bring social justice to the African
Americans in view of the world.
But economic justice was never properly
addressed causing economic inequality
for black people as a whole. Futile
attempts like, affirmative action and
busing didn’t reach the core of the
problem, which is racism and
Even with the election of the nation’s first
Black President, it failed to eliminate racist
attitudes and policies. So the world, once
again would view the lady of justice
peeking under the blindfold as black
economic hardships worsened and many unarmed black youth are unjustifiably being murdered by law
A nation of laws has failed to give some of its black citizens the right
to a trial when officers carry out judgement to execute without a
court or jury. Therefore the world court for peace and justice in Geneva, should bring these events to order.
Large crowds of activists and demonstrators of all nationalities are protesting condoning the killing of unarmed youths including Eric Garner of NYC, who received less justice than dogs at the hand of animal abusers.
