Moore, Oklahoma has seen a lot of tragedy. Hundreds of homes were destroyed during the May 20 tornado. More recently, one woman lost her life when a co-worker beheaded her. Another tragedy has struck this suburb in the Greater Oklahoma City Metro Area. According to Saturday, Nov. 29 report by KWTV Channel 9 News in Oklahoma City, a sleeping girl was killed when she was struck by a stray bullet from a drive-by shooting.

The teen girl had been shot in the neck. First responders arrived quickly, but were unable to save her. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Railena Rhodes was only 14 years old.
Rhodes didn’t live in the house where she was shot. Normally lived with her grandmother. This particular night, she spent with her mother.
There were about a dozen people in the southeast Moore home. Those people gave a description of the vehicle they say leaving the scene. The police found the vehicle. They are questioning those who were inside that vehicle.
Residents of Moore are shocked by the recent events. Moore is a highly sought after area of the Greater Oklahoma City Metro Area. One such reason many people want to live in Moore is due to the low crime rate.
Several shots had been fired into the home. The exact number of gunshots had not been released at the time of publication. It was also unknown what type of a gun was used in the drive-by shooting that took the life of 14-year-old Railena Rhodes.
