Fellow Examiner Matvey Troitsky brought this homeless family’s plight to my attention. He started a Go Fund Me page on the family’s behalf and would like to spread the message in an effort to aid Source of Universal Love in their charity mission to help those in need.
Even though, I personally have never met this family, I wanted to share their story because a safe, secure, affordable home in the Detroit is in high demand. The following information was provided by Matvey Troitsky and can be found on the Source of Universal Love’s official website.
“Maurita has been dedicated to helping the disadvantaged and serving others since the age of seventeen. She worked for Hope Christian Ministry helping operate the soup kitchen and assisted in counseling drug-addicted people while attending college.
Later in her life she decided to adopt two disabled twins from Detroit. This was the beginning of her “Ministry for Children”. She continued to open her home to children in need and would soon adopt a young lady named Mautea from Ghana, West Africa. Mautea has Polio and was brought here to the states to try to get medical help from Shriners. She was able to get help to fix her feet to a better state. She remains wheelchair bound however with Maurita’s care and encouragement Mautea eventually became married and now has children and is working.
Currently Maurita helps to support fifteen Children four of which are wheelchair bound. The family has relocated several times in search of a home that would be suitable for the family. Maurita is currently finishing a culinary degree in order to start a business that would provide her adopted children with a way to earn a living and become more independent. Maurita has been struggling financially and needs to find a permanent home for her family.Tanya, I asked her to share her story.”
“I am so grateful to S.O.U.L. for coming to our rescue. We are a family of thirteen and in November of 2005 we lost our home and everything in it. S.O.U.L. sent to us beautiful people to help us in every way. They supplied us with everything from food and clothing to furniture and money. We just thank God for S.O.U.L.” – Maurita, This quote is from the Source of Universal Love website. http://www.sourceofuniversallove.com/index.html
