Police are investigating a southwest Missouri region where several murders occurred earlier this week. A total of nine people were left dead as a result of the multiple gun shootings that occurred near Texas County. Missouri State Highway Patrol have confirmed that the victims were shot on Thursday evening in what appears to be a violent rampage across town. The Christian Post News shares the breaking details on this sad tragedy this Friday, Feb. 27, 2015.
The suspect in these southwest Missouri murders is believed to be a 36-year-old male with unknown motives. Authorities have stated that seven people were killed in the shootings, with the eighth death involving the shooter turning one of his guns on himself in his vehicle. A ninth body — that of an elderly woman in the local area — was also discovered, though she appears to have died from either shock or natural causes.
According to News Max earlier this afternoon, police officers received an emergency called shortly after 10:15 pm this Thursday night. A woman had dialed 911 saying she heard gunshots, and authorities soon arrived to find two bodies in the vicinity. Five other victims were soon found dead in Tyrone. Another was critically wounded. Detectives later found the gunman dead in his vehicle in an apparent suicide.
No names, including those of the victims and 36-year-old male suspect in the southwest murders, have been released at this point in time. “The investigation is continuing,” said Sgt. Jeff Kinder, spokesperson for the Missouri State Highway Patrol, during a recent press conference. “In our job we see a lot of bad stuff, and this is bad … This is hard on the police officers out there. I’m sure they were just as shocked as a lot of the people were.”
Although there have been rumors that drugs were a factor leading up to the shooting, police have not confirmed such reports at this time. These murders have left nine people dead and the rural Missouri area shaken. The Division of Drug and Crime Control is working closely with the State Highway Patrol to help solve the circumstances surrounding the tragic crime this week.

With Chinese law officials intent on putting an end to illegal drug use and trade in their country, thousands of suspected and confirmed users are being targeted, creating a distinct sense of “fear” among criminals. One such ring recently brought to light involved millions of dollars worth of illegal drugs.
