There is still time to make your reservations for the 10th anniversary of The Greater St. Louis Area Home Educator’s Expo. The Expo is scheduled to take place March 19 to 21, 2015. There is a special line up of speaker and exhibitors for this anniversary year.
It is the goal of the volunteer planners of the Expo to offer something for everyone with more than 30 speakers, 80 seminars, and 60 curriculum exhibitors and speakers. The intent is to offer an affordable seminar to area homeschoolers that is informative and encouraging.
Some of the speakers include Andrew Pudewa from Institute for Excellence in Writing; Diana Waring from History Revealed and author of books that explore the history behind popular cultural music; Dr. Jay Wile from Exploring Creation with Apologia and Science in the Beginning; Steve Demme from Math-U-See and Building Faith Families; Dr. Karen Holinga from Spelling-You-See and Reading Doctor, Inc.; John Thrower from Family Vision Library which is located in the St. Charles area; and Carol Becker from HSLDA High School.
A few of the numerous vendors include My Father’s World, Math-U-See, Notgrass Company, Institute for Excellence in Writing, A Beka, Rainbow Resource, Sonlight, BJU Press, Teaching Textbooks, Miller Pads & Paper, One Year Adventure Novel, and Lamplighter Publishing.
Seminars will be offered to cover an array of different homeschooling styles and needs as well as a special seminar for all area homeschool leaders, special needs workshops, and a homeschool clinic where veteran homeschoolers will be on hand to offer one-on-one advice and encouragement.
There is also going to be a Youth Track session with speakers, workshops, and demonstrations for youth ages 12 and up. As always, there will also be an excellent children’s program offered for ages 6 to 12 which include workshops, games, music, crafts, skits, and educational fun. The children’s program tends to fill up quickly, so check for availability soon to secure your spot.
Tickets are $10 per person with pre-registration or $20 at the door; though there is a free night on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. which includes a free New home Educators Seminar, Homeschooling for high School Seminar, and a Missouri Law Seminar. Registration is not required for Thursday, the free night. For the other nights; pre-register before February 28, and you will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win $50 in Expo Cash to spend at the expo.
