Since 2007 tens of thousands of country music fans have flocked to the Indio, California to catch the west coast’s largest country music festival, Stagecoach. Held on the same grounds as the massive Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (which just finished a run of two straight weeks in early April), the Stagecoach music festival features over 70 top mainstream and alternative country musicians and bands from around the country.
This years festival, held on April 24-26, 2015, proved to be the most successful Stagecoach music festival to date with a massive fan turn-out and well organized fun dispensed all over the festival grounds. Some of these ‘fun’ activities around the festival make Stagecoach standout among its peers, for example: a petting zoo for children, interactive art installations for adults and a BBQ cook off for the meat eaters of the festival.
The main attraction is still the music and throughout its history the festival has curated its performers carefully, very often showcasing stars as they are rising or right before they break big Case in point is this years headline performers, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry and Eli Young Band, all of whom have previously played Stagecoach during less desirable early day performances.
This years festival featured some great artist bookings with many of the day time performers, including Kacey Musgraves, drawing big crowds that will continue to grow as does their careers. In addition to Kacey Musgraves, a number of performers drew massive crowds including Jake Owen, Tim McGraw, Vince Gill with his throwback country band The Time Jumpers (which also included cameo appearances from Merle Haggard and Sturgill Simpson) and Sara Evans.
Other performers at the festival included: Kip Moore, Kacey Musgraves, Parmalee, The Lone Bellow, Brothers Osbourne, Parker Millsap, The Handsome Family, Lydia Loveless, Pegi Young, Lindsay Lou & The Flatbellys, Cam Ochs, Dierks Bentley, Justin Moore, ZZ Top, Gregg Allman, Cassadee Pope, Cast of Nashville, featuring Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, and Chris Carmack, Steve Earle, The Cadillac Three, Mickey Gilley, Mac Davis, The Band Perry, Sara Evans, George Thorogood and The Destroyers, Jerrod Neimann, Frankie Ballard, The Oak Ridge Boys, Hot Rize, Outlaws, Eric Burdon and the Animals, The Swon Brothers, Maddie & Tae, Chris Janson, Keith Anderson, Chatham County Line, Logan Brill, Luke Ameland, Ben Miller Band, Nikki Lane, John Moreland, John & Jacob, The Quebe Sisters Band, Daniel Romano, Della Mae, Clare Dunn, Anais Mitchell, Old Salt Union and Andrew Combs
