There is a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, including an all-new episode of “Survivor: San Juan del Sur” tonight. While it may be one of the biggest bar nights of the year, or a traditional night spent with family, those who tune in to watch Survivor tonight may be treated with an early feast, full of betrayal, backstabbing and big moves.
That’s because tonight’s episode looks to be a pretty pivotal one. Here is the episode synopsis from CBS for tonight’s pre-Thanksgiving episode:
Episode 10 – “This Is Where We Build Trust” – Another castaway trades their reward for security in the game. Also, the first idol of the season comes into play during a chaotic Tribal Council, on SURVIVOR, Wednesday, Nov. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
Analysis. The synopsis confirms that we will indeed see the first Immunity Idol of the season get played at Tribal Council, but what will lead up to that, and will it be Jon or Keith – or both of them – who end up playing it?
When we left off last week, power-player Jeremy was blindsided and sent packing. Jon, Jaclyn, Missy and Baylor were the key players in this, along with Reed. Reed however, is not in any firm alliance, and sort of aligned with those four last week our of necessity. Now with Jeremy gone, Reed could flock back to his original “outsider” alliance with Keith, Alec and Wes (the sneak preview video, seen at the top of this article, seems to confirm that he will indeed go back to them). With nine remaining players, these four would still need one additional vote, making Natalie a key player heading into tonight.
Natalie was firmly with Jeremy and the others, but after Jeremy was blindsided, Natalie will probably be very leery of trusting Missy, Baylor, Jon or Jaclyn again. Could Natalie flip over to play with Reed, Keith, Wes and Alec?
You can’t see it in the video above, but on CBS.com you can watch the commercial preview of tonight’s episode. In it, there are other clues about tonight’s episode. Mainly, there are several shots of tonight’s Tribal Council…we clearly see that Alec, Jon, Jaclyn, Keith, Missy and Baylor do not have the Immunity Necklace around their necks. That means that either Reed, Wes or Natalie have won Immunity. If Natalie does indeed vote along with Reed and the others, this clearly gives their side the advantage tonight, as they will potentially be able to save two of their members with Immunity (the necklace and then Keith’s Idol). The more likely scenario is that Jon plays his Idol, since it seems like he may be the biggest target tonight.
In any scenario, the stage is set for there to be another strong and hopefully unpredictable episode tonight. Be sure to check back tonight for the full recap and analysis, and then have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
