Monday morning, one of the hottest Internet searches was “Black Friday 2014 deals” as consumers attempt to see what is on sale this Friday in stores, but what if you could get the same deal online on Thanksgiving day instead of going into a store and braving the crowds for that item? In order to reduce the number of customers flooding their stores on Black Friday, many large box retailers are offering the same sale items and deals on their website on Thanksgiving day. Target is one of those retailers this year.
Last year, Best Buy had the iPad 2 for sale on their website for the same low price it would be in their store on Black Friday morning, and there wasn’t a limit on how many you could buy and the only time frame was that it be purchased some time that day.
Monday morning, Target sent out an email to customers with the clever statement “you don’t have to wait online” in the email. They will offer many of the same deals on their website on Thanksgiving day that they will offer later that night in stores and early on Black Friday morning. And if the item or items you want are on sale online and would ship to you for free…why not buy it online and sleep in Friday morning?
If you still plan on going shopping on Thanksgiving night or Friday morning, Target also has a new app to help shoppers with maps of their stores and to get you to the item you want faster. The pre-Black Friday Walmart sale is going on now, and will last for ten days. Specific items will go on sale at three different times including Thanksgiving day at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Friday morning at 6 a.m. and different items will be on sale at each one of these times. Walmart’s Black Friday ad includes hundreds of sale items and it begins on Thanksgiving night. Deals include a doorbuster Xbox One bundle online for $379 with an Xbox One 12-month subscription to Xbox Live, and one game. The Sears Black Friday 2014 sale will include deals on clothes, appliances, tools, luggage and more. Discounts of up to 30% off on Kenmore appliances, and 10% off other appliances; 24 months special financing is being offered, and they can get an extra 5% off appliances, or chose free delivery.
