On last night’s episode of “Tattoo Nightmares,” Jasmine Rodriguez, Big Gus and Tommy Helm, the tattoo doctors had more challenges on their hands in this episode titled, “Back in the Saddle” With impulsive decisions, often alcohol related and broken relationships, many people are walking around with some dreadful tattoos; some have nearly ruined peoples’ lives, but the re-enacted stories behind them are often worse than the tattoos.
As the episode begins, Edward comes to see Tommy with his horrible tribal dragon on his chest. Tommy screws with him at first and tells him he cannot do a cover up. But then relieves his angst by laughing. He is a martial arts teacher and would like a Foo Dog cover up. Foo Dogs were actually lions who guarded the temples and homes of the rich.
Kyle came to see Big Gus because he lost a bet back in college and had to have his friend’s signature tattooed on his arm. It reads Hunter F. Williams and he had enough of the jokes about another dude’s name on him. He would like a tomahawk with feathers and Gus has just the solution.
Jasmine’s client Katie has a bad experience tattoo from a guy she never met. She now knows that doing a tattoo of an online date is not a good idea. She has a large red sign of Capricorn with his last name and now wants a tribute to her grandfather. She would like a saddle with a rope and his name taking her from a person she hates to one she loves.
Tommy’s drawing of the Foo Dog was awesome, and should cover up the nasty dragon. When he told Tommy how it came to be, it was an experience he was happy to forget. As he was getting the tattoo, two Goth guys came in and offered him a beer, then invited him to a kegger. Unfortunately, the kegger turned out to be in a sex dungeon and he was to be their victim. His skills at martial arts were his salvation, as he knocked out the two dudes and hit the streets.
Kyle told Big Gus how his tattoo came to be. When he was in college, he and his best friend bet on anything and everything. When the new college football game came out, he and his friend and half the frat house was in their room betting on the two. Finally after sixteen hours, he lost the game and had to get the tattoo. As the fraternity laughed and howled, he was so pissed, but followed through. Now people think he is gay and it is ruining his love life.
Jasmine heard the story about Katie’s tattoo and could not believe her ears; the guy finally came to see her and when he got off the bus, the FBI was there to apprehend him. She does not even know why and because it is a federal case, they could not give her any more information except when he will be released. Now she wants him out of her life for good. The beautiful saddle and feminine background Jasmine did was amazing. She was in tears of joy and good riddance to the old tattoo with a beautiful tribute to her grandfather.
When Tommy was finished with the Foo Dog, it was an incredible piece of artwork. The ugly dragon was a thing of the past and now he can walk with pride and brag that he now has a Tommy Helm tattoo.
Thanks to the incredible artistry of Tommy, Big Gus and Jasmine, these people are no longer ashamed of their “Tattoo Nightmares.”
