In recent weeks, there have been a lot of rumors surrounding Leah Messer-Calvert and the future of “Teen Mom 2.” The show is set to come back for a sixth season, but it may not include the mother of three. Several reports have stated that Leah Messer-Calvert is the only “Teen Mom 2” star who has not yet signed on for another season and it has been unclear whether or not she would.
On Nov. 19, it was reported by The Ashley that sources had confirmed a season six of the show would happen with or without Leah Messer-Calvert. Of course, it wouldn’t be too strange for MTV to make that move considering that they are going forth with another season of the original “Teen Mom” without Farrah Abraham.
With fans wondering what Leah planned to do, she took to Twitter on Nov. 21 to answer a fans question. When asked if she would be doing “Teen Mom 2” for a sixth season, Leah Messer Calvert replied with a simple, “no.”
Although it was a one word answer, it speaks volumes for the future of the show which premiered in January of 2011. The network chose four girls from the second season of “16 and Pregnant” to continue on with their stories. Along with Leah Messer-Calvert, Kailyn Lowry, Chelsea Houska, and Jenelle Evans were also picked to continue on “Teen Mom 2” and signed a five-year contract. Since then, the girls have shared nearly every aspect of their lives, but it hasn’t always been fun. With the five-year contract up with the end of season five, it seems that Leah Messer-Calvert has been reluctant to sign on for another season.
In fact, with Leah Messer-Calvert dealing with so much drama at the moment, it makes sense that she wouldn’t want to continue on with the show that thrust her into the spotlight. The reality show star has already had to watch one divorce play out on television and with rumors that a second divorce is on the horizon, Leah may simply want a break from the spotlight.
Whether or not Leah Messer-Calvert and Jeremy Calvert will get divorced has yet to be known, though. While there is plenty of speculation based off of tweets and rumors, neither have yet filed for divorce.
Although Leah has admitted on Twitter that she will not be a part of “Teen Mom 2” season six, fans are still hoping that she will change her mind. They have watched her twins grow up on TV and while Leah Messer-Calvert has faced her share of backlash, she still has a strong fan base that will support her no matter what she decides to do.
