Greetings again my friends from my, YOU COULDN’T PAY ME ENOUGH TO GO TO A RETAIL STORE THIS WEEKEND, corner of the world. I have paid my dues and then some. .ain’t gonna happen. A grocery store that is JUST a grocery store perhaps, but the closest I plan on coming to a retail store is the nearest gas station. .and NOT at 4:00 AM!!!
Ok, now that we have that out of the way, lets move on shall we?
It was a very special Grand Re- Opening for Lima’s newest locally owned and operated small business, Natural Vibez. More like a Re-Opening because Natural Vibez has been before in Lima but no where as perfect as where they are now, sharing the building on W Robb Ave with GROAMYS.
Not only is the store AWESOME and loaded full of positive vibez, there is no store anywhere close like Natural Vibez. Lots of cool stuff and well you just need to check it out for yourself.
To help out with the festivities, Birdella’s next door neighbor booked some live music for Saturday. Mr. “I’m only here to help”,GROAMY, invited local talent Addii and blues legend Sonny Moorman, who just kicked major ass by the way, to provide the musical soundtrack for the afternoon. Sonny was in the area for a show at the C & C Loft and Lounge Saturday night so it all came together. .smooth.
Here’s a thought. Instead of hitting up the big stores, shop local, like GROAMYS and Natural Vibez for your Christmas gift giving…
If you haven’t ventured to downtown Lima to check out the newest club in town, you are cheating yourself. The Beantown Saloon is the new place in town for Hot country on the jukebox, hotter LIVE country music on the weekends and smokin hot bartenders. In the event you get too hot, they have ice cold brews and for kid in all of us, gummy bears (trust me these are NOT your kids gummy bears). Coming up this Wednesday Buckwild will be on stage to get you ready to spend the day with cousin Willie and his funky ear hair. They have more really cool live shows planned and as soon as I get the list I will pass it on….Just in case you don’t know where it is, corner of North and Main Street. Right across from Nitza’s. .. Can’t miss it…..
Speaking of Wednesday, before you head over to the Beantown Saloon, walk across the street to The Met and check out the first “official” live performance of The Vital Season. The Vital Season is a very cool and hip 5 piece band, doing things you won’t hear anywhere around here. Feed your ears some candy before you feed your belly…The Vital Season at The Met on Main Street starting at 7..
And when you have finally had enough, Friday night Milano Club is playing host to the always fun “Them Kids”. Show starts @ 8, head on over from the mall, food is great and THE BAR WILL BE OPEN.. This is the closest I’M coming to the mall…
Don’t forget coming up this Sunday is the monthly music jam put on by the Greater Allen County Blues Society (GACBS) @ the K of C Hall in front of Happy Dayz on Cable Road. It runs from 5-9, so its early enough to bring the whole family. Great food, cold drinks and great music you won’t hear anywhere else & every month is a different host band with this month being The Gunz. Trust me after spending Thursday with the family and the weekend with everyone in a 3 county area looking for the best deal, you will need the break. See you there.
That’s it for now. Remember we can all support the local entertainment scene, just go to something somewhere. At least that’s what I think.
If ya dig it do it
If ya really dig it
Do it twice
