Great news for the Denver Center for Crime Victims as they receive a Verizon Hopeline® Grant from Verizon Wireless. The Denver Center for Crime Victims (DCCV) is a non-profit organization in Denver, Colorado. They help provide victims of crimes, from simple theft to suicide survivors and homicide survivors. They have a wide variety of no cost services they provide to their clients and I am sure this grant award will help them reach out to many more residents of Denver and the surrounding communities they serve.
The Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program takes in old cell phones, accessories and batteries of any cell phone carrier, refurbishes the ones that can be, and are re-sold. The ones that cannot be refurbished and re-sold are disposed of properly to protect the environment. The monies received from the re-sold items is put into cash grants and cell phones to help shelters and other non-profits who work with domestic violence prevention and awareness as DCCV does.
Chris Lewter the Regional President of Verizon Wireless is noted as making the following comments about DCCV and the program; “We are proud to support an organization like The Denver Center for Crime Victims, which is making a difference in the lives of survivors of domestic violence every day, and; HopeLine® has been a passion for Verizon Wireless for almost 15 years, and we are proud to help play a role in ending domestic violence in our communities.”
