In last week’s episode, Ryan continues to search for Theo as Theo shows the range of his skills.
In this week’s episode, titled “Evermore”, Joe stages his last hurrah and demands that Ryan is the one that kills him.
Who really thought that Joe’s execution was going to happen with no hiccups? If so, then you really underestimate Joe Carroll.
Joe takes down the fleet of guys sent to take him to execution and uses the remaining three people alive as leverage to get Ryan to come to him. Why Ryan thought he could avoid seeing Joe before his death? God only knows. They both have an unhealthy obsession with one another that’s only going to end by the other person’s hand.
Joe and Ryan have a little heart to heart about how they are soul mates. He gets Ryan to open up about how he is obsessed with him and vice versa. To get Ryan to open up, he does a little dissecting on his brain. Ryan admits that he feels satisfaction and power when he killed.
During their last conversation, Joe tells Ryan that Theo is from the city of ‘Brotherly Love’ aka Philadelphia.
Preparing to Run
While Ryan is busy with Joe and his new plan, Theo uses this time to regroup with his little sister, Penny, who seems very comfortable with Theo and his killing. Things get complicated when he finds out what Joe is doing.
Theo is using Strauss’s notebook to try and find someone who can make him disappear, but not before he satisfies his pride. He wants to kill Ryan before he disappears. Been tried before and look what happened to them?
It takes some convincing, but he is able to convince her that Ryan needs to die before they can get freedom. He cracks Strauss’s notebook and gets a location. But for who and what person?
Penny plays a little karma on Ryan and trying to save Theo. She releases all the prisoners at the jail so that they try and kill Ryan and Joe. All this proves is that Ryan is not your typical FBI agent. He’s got a bit of crazy in him but that’s what makes him a good agent. Because he kills when he needs to and is not shy about it.
Joe finally pays for his sins as he dies by lethal injection with his final word being “Nevermore”.
But it’s not over for Ryan. He falls off the wagon and starts hallucinating that Joe is there with him.
In the next episode, Ryan deals with the demons that still haunt him despite the fact that Joe is gone.
