One of the key things about this device is that it has an interface that resembles that of the iPhone 5.
However, the iPod touch fifth-generation shares little with the previous versions of the iPod which
makes it more interesting. Below we shall look at the features of this device.
The iPod touch version features a flat back that doesn’t rock when you have it laying on flat surface. One
upside of the Touch is that it has a back surface that does not scratch easily. The back is made from the
anodized aluminum, similar to that of the iPhone 5. The only downside as far as the build –quality is
concerned, is that the camera lens sticks out beyond the body of the device. The iPod touch is fifth
generation such that the camera lens protrudes to make it fit in the case. It has a 4-inch display, the
same 326ppi panel used on the new iPhone touch. It is also the thinnest iPod touch to date, measuring
at 6.1mm and weighing 88grams (3.1 ounces).
This touch has an A5 processor and 512MB of RAM. In addition, the device is on with allows you to run
newer games, multitask, and surf the web faster than in times past. This makes the hardware of the iPod
touch (fifth generation) more superior than other iPod models that come before it.
The software is the same iOS 6 that we’ve all grown accustomed to. The main glaring flaw here is Apple
maps, but you knew that already. It appears that Apple removed the light sensor from this year’s iPod
touch. This is also the first time an iPod features Siri support which is a program that enables you to
interact with a mobile device.
With a camera that’s on par with the iPhone 4S, and a 720p front facing camera, this is the first touch
that takes photos and videos seriously. and for the first time on a touch, you have hardware that allows
you to legitimately use FaceTime, and play taxing games without slowing things down to crawl.
Apple, wisely only produced 32GB and 64GB versions of the new iPod touch. This gives you a lot of space
for music, games, photos, and video. Remember that the touch is not a phone, and is basically used
entirely as an entertainment device. Thus, the minimum 32GB of space is acceptable.
The battery is rated for 40 hours of music playback, or eight hours of video which is a slight
improvement over the last-generation touch.
The rear camera has been upgraded to a 5-megapixel sensor, connected with backside illuminated lens
and it can shoot quality 1080 videos. Apple has also added image stabilization and the panorama mode
that also features in the iPhone 5. In addition the front camera is 720p and can support FaceTime over
Most people could actually mistake this iPod for a phone because of its interface, which may set others
thinking whether Apple ran out of ideas. However, it offers a unique experience that only an iPod can
