The Viana Hotel and Spa
Upon entering the exciting Viana lobbyl we began to relax and feel like we had arrived at a luxe resort hundreds of miles from home. The Viana’s “feng shui” lobby zen like music, and the excellent front desk made us feel warm and welcome.
After a quck and easy check in, we went to the hotel’s Marco Polo Lounge for dinner.
Although the Marco Polo restaurant is diminutive in size, it offers an eclectic menu of meat, fish, poultry and pan asian cuisine. The wait staff are all personable, attractive and totally dedicated to making your dining experience excellent! We initially tried an assortment of appetizers including mussels marinara,, and mussels Marco Polo in a delightful zesty gorgonzola white sauce.; We also sampled Japanese crab cakes made with oriental spices and panke crumbs.
Our entrees were: Sesame Tuna Tataki- Prime Ahi tuna in a crispy asian spiced roasted sesame seed crust, over a bed of organic baby field greens The salad was tossed with fresh avocado, mandarin oranges, and fried wontons. Our second entree was a Viana Burger. A fabulous Kobe Burge made with a topping of teriyaki sauce smothered with caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms, and topped with melted swiss cheese. Simply delicious and one of the best burgers on long island.
For side dishes we tried Wasabi Mashed potatoes-idaho mashed potatoes infused delicately with japanese wasabi mustard.
Each dish was served on gleaming white chinaware plates and appropriate dinnerware.
It was now time for dessert and we tried two absolutely delicious selections:
Peanut butter Tartufo- Peanut butter tartuffo, covered by a rich chocolate coating and a luscious salted caramel and peanut center
Our other scrumptious delight wa a Brownie Sunday- a chocoate brownie topped with Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce.. An outstanding meal with exciting flavors, and excellent service and ambiance.
We ended our meal with coffee and tea,
After dinner we went back to our urban chic corner suite for the night. Our suite had a large living room, a large bedroom with adjacent bath and shower, a mini kitchenette, and 3 flat panel HD TVs . Our bedroom had an excellent view of the outside courtyard.
.After a few hours of movies on cable, we blissfully went to sleep on our king bed .
In the morning we went downstairs to a buffet style breakfast of juices, coffee, tea, jams, rolls, danish, eggs made to order, french toast, and bacon
A great way to start the day!
We went outside to our car and then took a brief ride around the shopping district in westbury. We returned to the Viana to relax and visit the spa for our facials.
The Viana has a first class spa, salon, lap pool,, exercise room , and individual rooms and lockers for massages and facials. Our 50 minute facials were soothing, invigorating, gentle and totally enjoyable.
At the end of our spa treatments we returned to our suite, relaxed, packed up and then headed for home.
The Viana hotel and spa was a wonderful escape and interlude from a harsh winter that just keeps on coming.
Highly recommended for romantic getaways, catering, events, wonderful intimate dining and fabulous staycations!
