After last night’s hit or miss live performances by the Top 10, tonight’s “The Voice” live results show (originally airing Nov. 25, 2014) could be very interesting. Craig Wayne Boyd was the only artist to make it into the iTunes Top 10. As of the beginning of the results show Reagan James, Anita Antoinette, and Ryan Sill were not in the iTunes Top 100. They are likely in trouble, but several artists didn’t chart well so it would be fair to say that at least half of the artists could be in trouble of being sent home tonight. Let’s see how it all plays out.
Things start off with Team Adam taking the stage to sing “Only the Good Die Young.” Shortly after Carson Daly gets right into the results and announces that Craig Wayne Boyd and Matt McAndrew are both safe and have moved on to the Top 8. There is no big shock here. Matt was last week’s top charter on iTunes and he did well again this week and Craig, as mentioned above, was the only singer to break the Top 10 this week.
After some commercials, Carson talks to the coaches and finds out that Blake is actually a little shocked that Craig Wayne Boyd isn’t already a star. It’s fair to say because he is good, but let’s not forget that he was twice cut from the show and is only here now because of two saves.
Carson then announces the next two singers moving on to the Top 8. They are Luke Wade and Taylor John Williams. Taylor did pretty well on the iTunes charts and seems to be building momentum. Luke is treading water, but had a pretty good night last night so it isn’t a big shock to see him move on.
Next up Team Parrell performs “What a Wonderful World.” After their nice performance Carson gets right back into the results and announces that DaNica Shirey and Chris Jamison are both safe and moving on.
Returning from the commercial break Taylor Swift takes the stage to sing her current hit “Blank Space.” She has been all over this season of “The Voice” and there are rumors that the show would love for her to be a coach on a future season. That wouldn’t likely happen for at least two seasons since she already has a world tour planned, but it would be a huge get for the show.
After some video of the Top 10 having a Thanksgiving dinner together it is announced that Damien is safe. This means Reagan James, Ryan Sill and Anita Antoinette will have to sing for their lives.
Reagan James is up first. She sings “I’m Like a Bird” by Nelly Furtado. She is charming and it is a good song for her.
Anita Antoinette sings Jason Mraz’s “The Remedy.” It’s not all that great. Reggae singers tend to have a fairly short shelf life on “The Voice.” This might mark the end of her run.
Last up is Ryan Sill who does Howie Day’s “Collide.” Like last week, he is better here than he was during his performance the previous night.
It is now up to the people as they tweet and vote via “The Voice” app for who they want to save.
After the votes and tweets are counted Carson announces that once again Ryan Sill has been saved and will move on to the Top 8. Maria Antoinette and Reagan James are eliminated.
Recapping the Top 8:
1. Craig Wayne Boyd
