Stereo Kicks were eliminated in “The X Factor” U.K. episode that ITV televised on Nov. 30, 2014. The elimination of the eight-member boy band was based on the public’s votes.
Since Stereo Kicks and Lauren Platt were in the bottom two, they had to do a sing-off for the “X Factor” U.K. judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Mel B and Louis Walsh.
Platt performed “I Know Where I’ve Been” (from the musical “Hairspray”) while Stereo Kicks performed Jason Mraz’s “I Won’t Give Up.”

Walsh (who was the”X Factor” mentor for Stereo Kicks) and Mel B voted to eliminate Platt, while Fernandez-Versini (who is Platt’s “X Factor” mentor) and Cowell voted to eliminate Stereo Kicks. With the judges’ votes in a deadlock, the contestant eliminated was the one who got the lowest number of votes from the public. And that contestant was Stereo Kicks. Now that Stereo Kicks have exited the show, Walsh no longer has any contestants on “The X Factor” U.K. this year.

In addition to being eliminated, Stereo Kicks have also been experiencing some behind-the-scenes drama. According to the Mirror: “Stereo Kicks’ Casey Johnson and Jake Sims have fallen out after they both started chasing the same X Factor girl. The pair are vying for the attention of Betsy-Blue English, of ousted band Only the Young.” An unnamed source told the tabloid: “Everyone knows Jake likes Betsy – he’s made it clear. But Casey has been charming Betsy-Blue. Jake and Casey are good friends but this has put that friendship under strain.”
Meanwhile, the guest performers on this episode were Ella Henderson (who sang “Yours”) and Union J, which performed “You Got It All.” Both acts were contestants on “The X Factor” U.K. in 2012. Union J came in fourth place, while Henderson came in sixth place. Other performers on the show were Queen with Adam Lambert, who performed “We Will Rock You.”
