“Hot Tub Time Machine 2”: This comedy sequel directed by Steve Pink follows Lou (Rob Corddry), Nick (Craig Robinson), and Jacob (Clark Duke) who, after their time travel adventures of the first movie, used their knowledge of the future to become successful individuals. But when Lou, who has become the “father of the Internet”, is shot, the gang must travel through time again to save him. Runtime: 93 minutes. Rated R for crude sexual content and language throughout, graphic nudity, drug use, and some violence.
“The Duff”: This comedy directed by Ari Sandel follows Bianca (Mae Whitman), who finds out in her senior year of high school that she is considered the “duff” (or designated ugly fat friend) to her more popular friends. With the help of jock Wesley (Robbie Amell) she stages a social revolution and tries to reinvent herself. Runtime: 101 minutes. Rated PG-13 for crude and sexual material throughout, some language and teen partying.
“McFarland, USA”: This sports drama directed by Niki Caro centers around Jim White (Kevin Costner), the cross country coach of a small town team who turns a group of ragtag athletes into champions. Runtime: 128 minutes. Rated PG for thematic material, some violence and language.
