As 2014 comes to a close, I put together a list of the top five stories I did during the past year. Take a few minutes and read through them. Some you may remember, others you may be reading for the first time. With all of the crime and mayhem, things run together. However, things get to stand out and here they are.
Biggest traffic headache was here. 100 cars and trucks involved in many multiple accidents on the Pa Turnpike on Valentines Day cause the pike to be shut down in both directions. Snow and ice that froze caused drivers to skid into each other. There were no fatalities. traffic was not able to move for at least six hours in some areas. Drivers had to find alternate routes of travel. Dozens of lawsuits are expected to be filed over this incident. Some people made the best of things by playing ice hockey in stopped traffic. To add insult to injury, some people thought they were helping the local news by sharing photos.of the incident. Unfortunately, they got taken advantage of and cost themselves hundreds of thousands of dollars by Tweeting ,or sharing the photos.
Remember the snow? power outages, trees down, roads iced over, many times. as soon as we got a handle on one storm, another would come through and dump more snow on us. People could not get to work and people could not keep warm in the winter. Those that had generators fared ok as long as they were not stolen or damaged. It was fierce, as in some areas of the state, traffic ground to a halt. driving was prohibited.
Most Bizzare criminal is this guy., Chris Pagano. He would drive around town naked and ask women to wrap is manhood in a piece of Swiss cheese. Someone was quick and snapped the photo of him which you can see on the article. Pagano would do this multiple times until he was finally caught.
Michael Vick off the team roster.here is the announcement.Thousands of fans now would start watching the team again as he was traded to the Jets for Mark Sanchez. Many thought the Eagles were stupid for hiring him. He did nothing for the team except bring bad PR and cost money. The felon was taken off the roster this year. Many people feel that the dog killer paid his dues by spending a few years in prison. I wonder if they would feel that way if it was their dog that he killed. This piece of trash should never have been allowed near a football stadium again unless he paid for a ticket to watch a game.
Taney Dragons The team is a little league baseball team. They went to the Little League World Series and lost. The city still threw them a parade. It was well attended. Mo’ne Davis, the pint size powerhouse that throws 70 MPH fastballs. She got herself on the cover of Sports Illustrated. During the parade , Davis copped an attitude and refused to sign autographs or pose for photos with fans. Whoever advised her to do that needs to get out of her life now. You are killing her career before it starts.
With NASA shooting rockets into space that can be seen in the local area, I thought it would be a great idea to go down to Wallops Island Virginia to see one in person. This story was the most fun. Most people never get to see anything like this in person. A mile and a half away, shot with a 300 2.8 lens with a 1/4 extender. Anything less and you can forget about anything usable. look through the pics. Not bad for a hazy day with poor visibility.
The happiest story was This one. A car thief stole a car and let a dog lose. People did not give up. They pressed on and on and right before Thanksgiving, Louie was found. The thief, is going to jail, no matter what.
As a bonus, This story is the most read. It went viral .Almost 200,000 people read this story all over the world.
So thank you for reading , keep reading, subscribe for free if you did not do so already. 2015 will have more craziness, more stories and more fun. Your comments are always welcome.
