The Girl Scouts is an American youth organization that has been a central part to many young women’s lives for several generations. Given the popularity of the Girl Scouts, it is fitting that a toy company called YOTTOY Productions, Inc. has recently launched new collection of plush dolls called “Girl Scouts Friendship Dolls.”
The “Girl Scouts Friendship Dolls” collection is currently comprised of three dolls that are all dressed in official Girl Scout attire. Created to celebrate the courage, confidence and character of girls everywhere, the new dolls are made with the softest, highest-quality materials. They are designed to grow with girls and go wherever their imaginations, aspirations, and adventures take them! These dolls embrace the Girl Scouts mission to build girls of courage, confidence and character while emphasizing the power of friendship.
Each contemporary and fashionable doll proudly wears her iconic Girl Scouts sash and comes complete with dozens of detailed stickers with awards, insignia, troop numerals, pins, and badges. Girls can personalize the doll’s sash to match their own achievements or set their own goals for the Girl Scout experience. Each doll is packaged in a color-coordinated box that showcases the individual doll’s favorite Girl Scouts activities and even her favorite Girl Scout Cookie! This new trio of friends includes:
Carina: This doll has brown hair, brown eyes, and medium-toned skin. She is dressed in a purple and light blue Girl Scout knit tee, velour shorts with twill cuffs decorated with the Girl Scout Trefoil design, striped pink leggings, and vivid purple vinyl shoes with lavender grosgrain ribbon and light blue corduroy fabric soles. Carina likes being active and setting goals. Her favorite cookie is peanut butter and chocolate.
Chloe: This doll has blonde hair, blue eyes, and light skin. She is dressed in a bright pink Girl Scout knit tee, blue twill cuffed shorts decorated with the Girl Scout Trefoil design, and vivid light blue vinyl shoes that are trimmed with pink grosgrain ribbon and pink corduroy fabric soles. Chloe likes listening to music and making her own songs. Her favorite cookie is thin mints.
Carly: This doll has brown hair, brown eyes, and dark skin. She is dressed in a bright orange and teal Girl Scout knit tee, an orange velour skirt decorated with the Girl Scout Trefoil design, and vivid yellow vinyl boots that feature Trefoil emblems and teal corduroy fabric soles. Carly likes writing poems and stories and sharing them with her friends. Her favorite cookie is caramel and coconut stripes.
Recently, I received the “Chloe” doll for review and I was instantly impressed by the high-quality of the plush. The doll’s hair is especially soft while the body, arms, and legs are obviously durable. Thus, this doll will easily survive cleanings in the washing-machine if need be. The Chloe doll does not talk or move without prompting but it is perfect for children who are imaginative and like to make up their own stories. Chloe comes with a large selection of Girl Scout badges (which are actually stickers) that each represent a merit badge like those which are awarded by the actual Girl Scouts. Unfortunately, the packing does not come with a description of what each one of these badges means. Overall, I give the Chloe doll 4/5 stars and recommend it to anyone who has a child who either is, or is interested in becoming, a Girl Scout.
The new line is now launching at Wal-Mart stores nationwide and online at Girlscoutshop.com, Walmart.com and YOTTOY.com. They retail for $19.99 each.
