Turtle Rock Studios has been working hard on their newest IP, Evolve. As players gradually get their hands on the game and the different modes it has to offer, they begin to understand the world and how it functions. The variety of hunters and monsters will deliver a true sense of discovery and replayability come Feb. 10.
The summit mode that players will work their way up to is undoubtedly Evacuation mode. Turtle Rock Studios believes this mode helps combine all of the elements that make up Evolve into one epic experience. Throughout the course of your time in Evacuation, there will be various outcomes that you will witness.
Players who were lucky enough to get into the Xbox One Evolve beta this weekend will get their chance to dive into Evacuation. Before you jump into the mode though, there are a few things you should know about the outcomes that can occur. In an exclusive interview with zoomdune.com, Co-Founder of Turtle Rock Studios Christ Ashton explained some of the outcomes people will see this weekend and at launch.
“There’s lots of cool stuff. As a Hunter you can get things like teleportation portals that can be used to move through the environment more quickly. Or a group of AI controlled colonists that will join the Hunters in their fight against the monster. You can get attack drones, sentry guns, med bays, etc. So many cool things.
“As a monster you can cause meteorites to fall from the sky and damage the Hunters, you can flood the environment to make it harder for them to move around, you can cause heavy rains to fall which make a LOT more carnivorous plants grow in the environment. You can make the wildlife mutated and rabid and they will constantly attack the Hunters. The list goes on. All of these effects combine in interesting ways with Hunt, Nest, and Rescue game modes,” Ashton said.
All of these help emphasize how important winning each day in Evacuation mode is for both hunters and monsters. These advantages often contribute to a win or a loss. Even if you do end up losing a day, it’s still good to know a few of the outcomes that you may face as a result. Preparing and knowing what to expect can be the difference between overcoming a disadvantage or falling victim to it.
The grueling, yet thrilling five day mode known as Evacuation is one players will come to love. Differing maps, loads of outcomes, dominating monsters and brave hunters help create a wide range of possibilities.
