UPDATE: Pinocchio is still in shelter and considered URGENT. If space is needed, he can be euthanized. Please share.
Handsome and super sweet Pinocchio is URGENT in Tampa, Florida. The shelter is full and he could be killed at any time. Volunteers are desperately seeking rescue, and temporary foster is available for up to ten days.
Pinocchio is a striking white and grey (and pink) dog with big, bright blue (slightly crossed) eyes. His shiny black nose just wants to nuzzle and push you closer to pet him. He loves people, even though his last owner did not care for him.
According to Rescue Me Tampa – Shelter Dogs:
We walked him through the kennel…he wanted people, and did not act out he raced to grass to potty. Dead fleas all over him. His owners did him a favor — he deserves a better home. GOOD BOY, friendly knows sit and takes treats nicely. So that’s two sets of volunteers who love this guy!”
When Pinocchio arrived at the Tampa shelter, he was infested with fleas. Now he is clean, and his short white fur is growing back in. He is already neutered and heartworm negative, although he is in isolation for an upper respiratory infection. He’s ready for a rescue to pull him and find him a home.
Several volunteers have raved about him:
This boy is sweet and silly. I played with him last week. Those eyes make me melt!”

This group wants to explain about pledging on the Facebook page. They write:
If you would like to pledge for a dog, just post a comment on the dogs thread how much you would like to pledge. We encourage people to only make pledges for HCAS approved rescues or to the HCAS foster program. Money should never be sent directly to adopters. It can be sent directly to their vet for dogs that have medical issues. Once a dog with pledges leaves the building to the approved rescue and we receive a link where pledges can be paid, we will post the link. All HW+ dogs going into HCAS foster program will need to be funded $325 for treatment. Any donations made above that amount will be used for another HW+ foster dogs.
