There have been a number of significant paranormal reports coming out of the Rochester, NY area in the past few months and this article is simply a summary of several.
A number of reports seem to focus on strange objects and lights being seen near or over Lake Ontario. In August 2014, three lighted triangles were spotted over the Lake, the first of numerous triangles which have been reported both at night and during the day. One of these subsequent sightings was reported to the NUFORC site about one month later.
Earlier in the year a photographer took several beautiful pictures of a mysterious “object” or set of lights over Lake Ontario and these were published here.
There have been additional sightings by several witnesses who report seeing large dark objects, that are much bigger than birds, flying quite low over neighborhoods at tremendous rates of speed, so quickly that it’s virtually impossible to get a camera or phone out fast enough to capture any images. These dark objects have been observed by multiple witnesses at a time. One attempt to capture these dark objects can be found here.
One witness in the Rochester area has reported not only strange lights over his neighborhood but an increase in Bigfoot and other paranormal activity as well. Bigfoot reports are not uncommon throughout the entire northern tier of the state.
He lives in a rural, semi-wooded area outside of Rochester and has shared that, since last spring, he and his neighbors have been observing and sharing a variety of paranormal events.
The experiences began early last spring with a low UFO sighting that was seen by the subject and many of his neighbors. They saw a low bright object that was contained greens, blues and other vivid colors. After that, he and others in the area, began having Bigfoot encounters in the nearby woods.
He has mentioned that he goes into the woods as often as he dares (sometimes he’s too scared) in order to try to document in images what is going on there. He reports that the Bigfoot show themselves regularly to him, but it’s very difficult to get their images on camera.
At one point last summer, when he was in the woods, he was approached by a strange man with “pasty-white” skin, dark sun glasses, a neat pressed shirt, dress pants and shoes, completely out of place in the middle of the woods. The man asked politely, but rather aggressively, what he was doing there. When he responded with “Oh, just taking pictures of the wildlife,” the man walked past stiffly into the woods.
There have been instances of other people in his neighborhood being approached by strangers about their “experiences” and he has observed unfamiliar dark cars, being driven by what look like security personnel, conducting seeming surveillance on him and his neighbors.
In another interesting incident which occurred more recently, he was in the woods investigating a stick structure he had located when he heard a “thump” next to him, looked up and saw a man, apparently laden down with rather strange looking equipment strapped to a belt, running at full speed toward the part of the woods where his Bigfoot encounters seem to occur (he was not running down a path). He had not heard the man approach-the running man seemed to literally appear out of nowhere.
As in many of these cases, the subject has experienced electromagnetic problems with his recording equipment and in his house (he’s had to simply get rid of some of it), has heard strange noises at night and found odd footprints and stick structures in a manner consistent with what others encountering Bigfoot tend to report. On Oct 24, 2014 he and a neighbor boy witnessed and recorded another low UFO sighting over the neighborhood.
A short collection of photos and video stills relating to the above reports can be found here.
The winter months through December are usually a peak time for UFO activity which then seem to slow down in January and February to begin picking up again in March. It will be interesting to see if the Rochester events follow this pattern.
