USA Triathlon has just announced their Junior Elite Series for this year, allowing junior triathletes to qualify for the 2015 USA Triathlon Youth Elite and Junior Elite National Championships, set for Aug. 1 in West Chester, Ohio. These races help identify talented junior athletes and provide a development pathway for USAT’s High Performance program, and prepare the athletes for draft-legal racing. Participation is open to athletes ages 13-19. Ages 13-15 participate in the youth elite division (super-sprint distance), and ages 16-19 in the junior elite division (sprint distance).
Youth Elite race format is a 375 meter swim, 10 kilometer (2x5K laps) bike, and 2.5K run. The bike is draft-legal.
Junior Elite race format is a 750 meter swim, 20 kilometer (4x5K laps) bike, and 5K (2×2.5k lap) run. The bike is draft-legal.

2015 USA Triathlon Youth & Junior National Championships
The USA Triathlon Youth Elite & Junior Elite National Championships will take place on August 1in West Chester, OH. In addition to super-sprint and sprint distances for the Youth Elite and Junior Elite divisions, there will be youth age-group competitions and clinics for athletes ages 7-15 in the non-drafting format. Registration is now open for the youth age-group races, which require no qualification.
Youth National Championship (non-drafting)
7-10-year-olds: 100m swim, 5K bike, and 1kKrun
11-15-year-olds: 200m swim, 10K bike, 2K run
(No qualification required)
Youth Elite National Championship (draft-legal)
13-15-year-olds: 375m swim, 10K bike, 2.5K run
Junior Elite National Championship (draft-legal)
16-19-year-olds: 750m swim, 20K bike, 5K run
2015 USA Triathlon Junior Elite Special Qualifier
U.S. athletes competing in the invitational Sarasota CAMTRI North American Junior Championships on March 14 in Sarasota, FL may also earn automatic qualification for the USA Triathlon Junior Elite National Championships for finishing among the top seven of all U.S. competitors. Fifty junior athletes, 25 per gender, will represent the U.S. at the Sarasota race.
